I have seen players come and go over the many years i have followed the jets . Braylon Edwards was a good player for us . His play the last season he was a jet deserved a new contract but the FO decided otherwise . Well roll forward to now , Edwards is back in green with something to prove all over again .
He has bashed the FO recently , the same FO who let him go but in doing so also made a firm statement in his support of Sanchez . We are very thin at WR . Is their many other WR's in the NFL who would have the same confidence in Sanchez ? I doubt it .
Think back to the playoff game we beat the Colts . Nick Folk won us the game but the play before was the reason he had the chance to do so. Sanchez demanded a chance to make one more play to get us closer and chose Edwards as his guy . When the game was on the line he chose Edwards over everyone else as the guy he had confidence in .
Confidance and Sanchez are not usually written in the same sentence anymore without the words " Lack Of" included . Can Edwards give Sanchez some confidence back ? I honestly think he can . Weather Edwards make 10 catches a game or 1 is not the issue . Sanchez has his old safety blanket back . I think we will see an improvement in Sanchez from now till the end of the season .
Edwards also has something to prove . He felt let down the team let him go . He is on record calling them idiots , well now he has the chance to show them on the field that they made a mistake . Edwards is still very young for a WR so is far from finished . He is playing for his future .
This move is a good move by the FO . If this works even slightly , i think we will see a different approach from the FO in building a team next year so much so that i would predict that they WILL draft a WR in the 1st round ( Keenan Allen ) and give Sanchez as many weapons as possible to succeed in what could/should be his last season as a jet.
