Kimberly Martin notes former and current Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards will be wearing number 17 whenever he returns to the field for Gang Green.

Braylon Edwards has his old No. 17 (previously worn by Jordan White), according to the #jets web site.

Jordan White is the rookie receiver who had number 17. Frequently in cases where an established player joins a team and receives a jersey number from a younger player already wearing said number, there is some sort of compensation involved, even something as small as a dinner. No word yet on what White received if he received anything.
