Hi all , was away for a while and this is my 1st post in a while but i hope it gets the debating juices flowing .
For the rest of the season we will see what our pass defence is made of , without the best shutdown corner in the NFL . I'm wondering is this going to be the start of " Life without Revis " .
We all know Revis will want to be paid top $ in the very near future and the Jets are very close to the cap every year . So would trading away our prize asset make the most sense for this football team ? The jets seem to have a severe dislike to Revis's agent and have cut ties with other players who were represented by him . If they could get a few high picks for him or maybe a top player in exchange will they pull the trigger on a trade ?
I am a MASSIVE Revis fan and think we should keep him forever but if Cro and Wilson can step up for the remainder of the season then his value to the team is not be as big a need as a top pass rusher . Could we win the SB with Cro , Wilson and a top pass rusher ? Or what about a top 10 QB in a trade for Revis ?
There are some areas this team that need quality upgrades , what if we could get that upgrade and still have 2 very good corners on the team ?
For me , there is a real danger that we could be without Revis within the next 2 years . If we lost him because he wanted too much money then we need to be smart, and get the best possible trade for the jets . Could we get 2 1st round picks for Revis ? What about a top pass rusher ,RB or QB along with some picks ?
What would you do if you were GM ? Sign him up for life , trade for picks or trade for a top player ? I know the answer has a lot to do with how we do without Revis this year but when your watching the rest of the games this season , keep in the back of your mind that the performance of our 2 CB's could have a very big bearing on the future of Revis as a Jet
