NFL Reason To Celebrate

Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Here is our Coors Light Reason to Celebrate

Funnily enough, this was the easiest weekly Coors light reason to celebrate post to write. In a terrible game where more than one Jets player was truly embarrassed, only one player came up with any dignity and it was one of the busiest Jets.

Robert Malone the punter, who had 7 punts for an average of 43.4, net average 32.9 and a long of 54.....he also managed to have two of those punts downed inside the 20. The blocked punt rests squarely on the shoulders of Cumberland who left his man way too early.

He had an excellent game, but really this award is for his season as a whole so far. He is averaging 45.3 yards a punt with a long of 61 and through four games he has already downed 8 punts inside the 20 yard line. Thank you very much Detroit for allowing us to steal a guy who is quickly becoming one of our better players.

It is rather depressing that the punter is the main guy, but when you lose 34-0 it's not surprising. This is Malone's 3rd year in the league after spending 2010 with Tampa and 2011 with Detroit, however he only really started with Tampa back in 2010. A punter out of Fresno State and Martin Luther King High School in California.

So here is to you Mr Malone, you're our week four Coors Light: Reason to Celebrate.
