Phil Mushnick: HC Rex Ryan is a slug for not asking Giants HC Tom Coughlin if he was okay.

Turn On The Jets: The leaked resume of OC Brian Schottenheimer.

ESPN New York: QB Mark Sanchez's playoffs wins look more impressive with all four road teams losing.

Jets Twit: OLB Jamaal Westerman promises the playoffs next year to a beat writer.

AFC East Blog: OLB Aaron Maybin is the Comeback Player of the Year in the division.

NY Jets Over the Pond: Is playing like a Jet a pitfall?

Mike Lupica: This is a Giants town.

Former Jets P Steve Weatherford, RT Kareem McKenzie and RB DJ Ware are still in the playoffs, as the Giants beat a Ryan for the third straight week. I give props to Big Blue for allowing zero sacks to the third Ryan brother Matt. Also, after some investigation, it turns out DJ is not Danny Ware's brother, but is actually the same guy, who coincidentally was also limited to zero sacks.

Former Jets OL Wade Smith, TE Joel Dreessen and P Matt Turk are still in the playoffs with the Texans. Am I just me, or did LB Brian Cushing's performance seem to enhance with Houston's first ever post-season game? Maybe I'm just me.

Former Jets FS Kerry Rhodes, who has not gone to the playoffs since leaving New York, believes there is a leadership void with Gang Green. You have a great day as well, Carrie.

The Broncos, QB Tim Tebow and the almighty beat the Steelers last night. You see, if you heathens would have just prayed a little harder last year, we would have faced an injured Ben Roethlisberger, too.

Stampede Blue believes it would be prudent to part with Peyton Manning.

There's a chance that fomer NFL HC Marty Schottenheimer might be hired as HC of the Buccaneers. That means that there's a chance that B-Schott could work for him.

I almost believed in miracles when I saw that the Jets won last night. It turned out to be the new old Winnepeg hockey team beating the group from "The Office".

This guy is not a jerk-off, after the jump.

For once in my life, I think I actually agree with what Carrie was saying. It’s not a well kept secret but still.

Maybe he was right.

But he wouldn’t really know seeing as he’s not in the locker room.

Very true, but it’s the first time I have seen him talk about the Jets since he left and actually thought he wasn’t talking absolute rubbush.

Phil Mushnick is still around?

I’ve never run into anyone who actually liked the vile he spews on a regular basis

Haven't heard his name in years.

Which is probably why he’s writing stuff like this. But anyway, as much as he’s entitled to his opinion, he didn’t even bother to ask anyone whether Rex said something to Tom after the crushing loss.

Or if Rex was even aware of it, seeing as he wasn’t even aware of what happens in his own offense’s huddle.

Completely agree about Mushnick’s accusations being without substance, but it was an interesting read about Werblin and Rhome, not sure if that is 100% accurate, but interesting if so.

Rhome

was a 13th round draft pick-seems a bit fishy given that the NFL didn’t seem to jump all over the guy either…

Please Bucs you have to hire Marty.

With the position Brian Schotty in in with the Jets, it would be odd if he didn’t go to the Bucs.

Exactly how I think.

Marty to the Bucs!

Wow, Marty to the Bucs would be awesome. Schotty would definitely follow his pops down south. We need to start talking Marty up and build a groundswell of support for Marty in Tampa Bay. Did you know Marty is only 68 years young? He is tanned, rested and ready to coach again after 5 years off. Marty’s career regular-season record is 74 games over .500! 74!! Marty’s last regular season record with the Chargers was 14-2. Seriously, the Bucs would be making a huge mistake if they did not hire Marty…

Marty just won the UFL title.

So he’s been around football recently. The Bucs could certainly use him. They can’t worry about wining playoff games until they can there.

I don't even need to lie.

I honestly think Marty would be a good hire for them. Of course if means B.Schotty comes with him, perhaps not.

If the Bucs front office is reading this, ignore that last sentence.

by ArunK on Jan 9, 2012 3:22 PM EST up reply actions

I hear you.

I do think Marty would be good hire. Except for that one season in Washington at 8-8, he had success everywhere he’s been. Those Cleveland teams he coached in the mid-80’s were money — at least in the regular season…

The Rex criticism is getting to be nauseating

And at this point, it doesn’t even make sense. The Jet-hating media is just grasping for straws at this point.

Also, Schotty Sr. was really quite a decent coach. The Bucs could do much worse, so let’s hope they hire the whole Schottenheimer family, for our sake.

Mushnick

Other than the clip of the shake where is Mushnick’s actual proof. Typical NY Post hackery. Oh and the Winnipeg guy should take alook in the mirror.

DJ Ware and Joel Dreessen were Jets players at some point?

First of all, wtf @ the Giants poaching our RBs and them turning out pretty good. Secondly, Joel Dreessen is pretty good why isn’t he still a Jet :(

by Exystence on Jan 10, 2012 9:52 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Because

Doug Jolley and Sean Ryan were gonna be so great for us? Iono. But Danny Ware was with the Jets training camp in ’08 I think. Then the Giants picked him up and he started going by DJ.
