Yesterday Was A Special Day In Jets History

Yesterday was the nine year anniversary of the Jets 41-0 domination of the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2003 NFL playoffs

This is the only video clip I can find of that magical game. Sure I was 8 at the time, and I mostly remember being scarred for years by the fireworks and apache helicopter flyover, but the Jets KILLED them. Aside from that 56 yard screen pass touchdown to Richie Anderson Chad Pennington threw 2 other touchdown passes, one of them to Santana Moss. While Curtis Martin is the future hall of famer Lamont Jordan dominated, rushing for 102 yards. The Jets defense was brilliant holding barely post pubescent Peyton Manning to 137 yards passing in a dominating effort. Donnie Abraham and James Darling had picks, and Chad Morton also returned a punt 70 yards.

Sure the Jets got obliterated by Oakland the next week, but boy was that the most fun Jets game ever? The Jets last ever playoff game at the old stadium, the crowd was crazy, and it was over by the end of the first. That game gave Jets fans hope for the future with Chad Pennington as the starting QB. Chad was amazing that year, and I still maintain to this day that the Jets would have won a super bowl with him had he not gotten his shoulder injury in the preseason game against the Giants the next year. Anyway way we never forget…
