The Front Office Needs a New Plan!
I hope the FO sees what they did the last 2 years of being clueless on success. They have let the Jets deteriorate to the state we are in now. Before the season they made many mistakes and even in the previous 2 years. I wrote in anger earlier in the season the the FO and coaches were to busy patting themselves on the back and busy sucking each others _icks to know that the teams is starting to get weak. Now the time has come and we are hurting bad, time to correct it but they must pull their heads out of their azz.
First of all pursuing Aso in the off season was a mistake, CB wasn't a weak link of the team, the pass rush, safeties, and WR's were. People were saying we get him wow, yea right. Little did we know now the Oline has gotten weak and our LB's look a lot slower this year. So now we have more and so many issues it's ridiculous. I read recently that we have the slowest defense in the league and I can't dispute that. Yea, Rex loves his corners but who was looking out for the linemen, WR's, safeties and LB's. I enjoyed Maybin like everyone else but he's still a maybe or with a monster rusher we still need, maybin will become one to.
While other teams scout well, draft well and use good coaching to make those players stars we get all excited and then players become a project for us. Why don't we get the where did they come from type of players. It all starts with good scouting then finishes up with good coaching. We let so many good players in Free Agency go, it drove me crazy. Too busy trying to get Aso and let our Jets start the slide. Now there's talk about Peyton, I like Peyton he's HOF but a serious neck injury, come on man, he less than a big hit away from career ending. Or just for no reason it might act up again, so shall we give up our future for this. I say stop the stupid thinking, get a new OC, a good draft and let's see what Sanchez can do in a better environment. For years I laughed at Alex Smith and now like others see what good coaching can do. I've seen both Smith and Sanchez play in college and still feel Sanchez is better. Time will tell, I was pissed at Sanchez many a time this year but also realize from day one he was running for his life a lot and I give him credit for hanging in there. There were times I thought he was going to be out of the game after a hard sack, but he always came back. He must have really been gun shy who wouldn't be.
Now we read the locker room was a cancer and that is where discipline and coaching comes in too. I think we can still keeps Holmes set him right and try to bring back Braylon. Bray played good for us and was the big, fast, strong WR we lacked. Plax was OK for us but Turner was starting to look good, both are tall and slow, so go with the youth. I became a Jets fan because of Rex and Sanchez and still believe in them but please the time for the FO to stop honoring themselves has to come to an end. Wake Up!

I agree some with your premise but I'd add
That for the last three years, we haven’t had a normal off season. 2 years we were handicapped by the final 4 rules. This past offseason we were stuck with only a week of free agency. And Cro said he would not sign until Nnamdi did first. Therefore, Tanny was stuck negoitiating for Nnamdi to even get a chance to grab Cro.
what does final 4 rules have to do with it and Tanny was stuck negotiating for Nnamdi? Tanny went down that road and didn’t have to.
It means that the Jets were handicapped in FA by final four rules. They were not free to pursue free agents.
If Nnamdi had to sign before Cro would consider offers, then might as well make an offer for Nnamdi. Better than missing out on Nnamdi then missing out on Cro. Plus since Nnamdi and Cro had the same agent, negotiating for Nnamdi is also telling Cro’s agent just how much they would spend. Its really the same as just negotiating for Cro too.
I see what you mean but to FO still had many chances to sign good players even cut players, example Brian Waters of the Pats, was cut by the chiefs and now in the pro bowl. Last year we signed JT as a free agent, was that a good choice. We let so many players go away the last 2 years that could have helped. I read some players that were cut turned out real good for teams.
I thought we basically told crow we are pursuing Aso first and left me out in the cold while the FO thinking was if we get Aso we get the SB. I guess, I was mistaken.
So you’re saying we never had a chance to sign good players and that our FO hands were tied and that is the main reason not stupidity and thinking they were so good?
Yeah, I think there were intervene circumstances
We left Jay Feeley walk so we could sign Jason Taylor. In final four rules, thats all we could do. Was Taylor great? No, but he did add to a bad pass rush.
Yeah, thats my understanding. Cro and Nnamdi had the same agent and Cro said he would sign only after Nnamdi set the market. So again, hands were tied.
It's plain and simple Rex and Tanny got greedy
The Jets did not need Nnamdi…..yeah we all thought it would be great for him to become a Jet but we’re fans and who wouldn’t like to have both Nnamdi and Revis at corner?
Rex and Tanny are the professionals and they should have focused resigning some guys or signing free agents to fill positions of need.
Love with a LEO is like a drug.. One taste and your addicted!
Just a thought
What about Lowery? we let him go and i know he was a better playing safety than Smith. At least he could cover somebody. Why not bring him back and let Smith be a back up, Draft another safety to replace Leonard. This is a possible solution since we are in a money crunch.
I'd be all for it
I don’t think the Jets FO will resign him, in their minds it’d be admitting to a mistake.

if that's the truth, it's time for them to own up to their mistakes and get this organization rolling again
I constantly read that the Jets won’t do X, Y or Z because then they’d be admitting to a mistake.
What makes a good organization is one that can identify their mistakes, admit it and act accordingly. Unfortunately the Jets do none of that.
