What I Don't Understand

The fans have been calling for our OC head for at least the last 2 years, but he was secretly extended last year, for 2 years which is until the end of next year,,We are told the team (FO) is still happy with him and he will be back with us next year.. Why?

People say our QB is no good, but I remember last year in big games, when our back was to the wall, that same QB would run a hurry up, two minute drill with no input from the side line and won game after game, after game, when all looked lost. What happened to him? Both the Miami and Giant game would have been won with the QB we had last year.

Of course he had confidence in his WR core. One of whom was badly injured on a play, so that he had to hop on one leg in order to complete the reception. He had the heart of, and played like, a Jet. We are told he asked to be cut because he wanted to be the #2 receiver, Yet he went to a team where he is the #4 receiver. Strange?

Our #1 receiver (in terms of yards) had a chemistry with our QB and seemed to be the go to guy who could stretch the field and pick up the big yards. He said he really liked playing for our team and would even give us a home town discount when he had to sign a new contract with us. He was the only Vet receiver to attend our QB lockout training camp (JETS WEST) to work on their chemistry and perhaps help the newer receivers on the team. His back-flip after our biggest win last year symbolized the joy and unity this team had last year. Yet the Jets did not even offer him a respectful #2 journeyman receiver contract at the end of the year. He ended up playing for a little more the a million dollars this year while his 34 year old slow jailbird replacement received three million. Why did we not respect him?

Our other #1 receiver (in terms of TD's) received all the glory because of the TD's, But he made it plain that he was going to play for the highest bidder this year. . He had no commitment to us, and did not attend Jets west during the lockout. He always had a slightly strained relationship with coaching staff, he did not start in the first game against the Steelers and after our lost to them in the playoffs, he criticized the play selection. There has been no glory for him this year because he does not have his partner who can stretch the field, so he has been doubled teamed all the time. So he gets frustrated and complains. Yet he got a contract worth close to 50 million dollars, so he knows he will not be cut. Why did we pay him so much, that we felt we could not afford the other part of the tandem.

Or has there been a two year problem between the receiving core and the OC?

And why did Rex not know about it?
