Namath defends Sanchez, doesn't want Jets upset with him

I'm not a Jets fan but I see articles about Joe Namath all the time on NFL.com. Is Namath like an ex-girlfriend who just won't go away? I mean who really cares what he has to say. I'm wondering how Jets fans feel about him.

He’s like an Ex president. He’s been there done that and we respect his points, even if we don’t always agree.
It’b be like if Babe Ruth was still around talking about the current Yankees. Of course we respect him and care what he has to say. I’d like to see him have more of a role with the Jets Org.

I guess I do always listen when Priest Holmes talks about the Chiefs...

It just seems like Namath is more of a rambling idiot. I don’t mean any disrespect and I really don’t follow him very close. I just see the articles on NFL.com and it seems like his view changes all the time and he isn’t consistent. I was just wondering if Jets fans feel that way. Thanks for the insight.

I think if you actually listen to what he has to say, he has a lot of good insight. Most of all he REALLY cares about the team. He still sees himself as a Jet and only wants the best for the org. I really don’t see his comments as ‘crackpot’, or anything. He makes vaild points, just don’t always agree with them.
