Marvin McNutt & DeVier Posey Draw Jets Interest
Shane P. Hallam of Draft Countdown mentions that the Jets were seen talking to both WR Marvin Mcnutt and Ohio State WR DeVier Posey. Both big receivers, neither of which will come as a surprise to any Jets fans. McNutt has been impressing at the Senior Bowl; he is not the quickest receiver but he uses his frame really well and catches the ball extremely well. Posey on the other hand reportedly has been struggling so far this week, having a few problems catching the ball cleanly grasping it from the air, instead seeing it into his pads.

Go Jets!!!!!!!
I don’t care about what happened last season. It’s over. The Jets FO will get this team back on track. The Jets have begun to address their offensive problems by hiring Sparano & Company. Additionally, the FO has parted ways with Schotty and hired a new wr’s coach.
C’mon Jet fans, let’s support our team to the fullest. We are SB bound. Rex may not be able to speak brashly but we can.
Go Jets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SuperBowl mutha Fer’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you optimism...
We have a great young core of talent and I think mark is going to turn the corner and become the QB we’ve caught glimpses of each year.
Let's Make sure we play like the f***in NEW YORK JETS
and not some f***in slapd**k team!

McNutt...
I’’ve mentioned in a couple other threads…watched all Iowa games the last two years (not by choice)…McNutt isn’t the fastest, but he’s a freaking stud…playmaker…would love him on the Jets next year…
That's absolutely perfect size, what are you talking about?

I Love Mcnutt
I have posted a few times in him. He is the most undervalued i feel in this draft right now.
You guys know Juron Criner?
This guy was outstanding in 2010 but then something happened to him in 2011 and he didnt play, I don’t know what, but I think he could be a real steal.
Starting to feel a little better already
I think Rex and the FO are going to bust their asses this offseason and make the right draft choices and aggressive free agency moves, and we will have a better regular season than any of the last three years. I think that the team will grow greatly from the let down of this season and the AFC championship “hangover” will be cured.
Would love it if the jets picked up McNutt
I don’t know what round we would take him, but the kid is so good. I’ve watched every Iowa game I could in the past 3 years, and he just makes plays
I like McNutt
and I wouldnt mind using a 3rd or 4th round pick on him but I really think this team needs to target more speed. I also could go without picking a WR at all as this team has far bigger needs.
what?
we’re going to need a wr. i don’t think plax is coming back, so this leaves us with holmes and kerley. i would even take a wr in the first

WR
in the first round is crazy. We have far bigger needs like the pass rusher that this team fails to draft every year.
Holmes, Kerley, Turner and a cheap Braylon Edwards is more than ok. We do not need to waste a first round pick on a WR as long as the opposing QBs are allowed 10 seconds to throw the ball.

I have never seen the Jets pick some one
that Draft countdown has seen them talking to in 7 years of Draft countdown doing senior bowls.
Big Mike Adams is stealing the show in the mobile that is the Right tackle we need
Mike T would rather start Wayne Hunter probably
From Daddy Daddy through Draft countdown on Mike Adams. Brandon Weeden at Senior Bowl
This is all Draft Daddy’s work. Looks like Adams, Weeden and Curier are doing well in Mobile. I am fine with Mike Adams at Pick 16
As has been noted on other sites, Ohio State tackle Mike Adams is the cream of the crop on the North offensive line. Despite being very tall, he’s graceful and easy out of his stance and controls the man in front of him. He has great hands and doesn’t get beat often. This player is likely an instant starter at either tackle position and should be in play in the top half of the first round.
Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden is having a great week so far. He throws an accurate football and shows excellent decision making in finding the open man. On the down side he can be flat footed in the pocket. But still, a reasonable case could be made he is the best quarterback in town.
So, what is his draft value? Weeden is a controversial prospect because of his relatively advanced age. Some believe he should be a first round draft pick, based purely on his performance. Ah, if only life were fair, that might happen. Scouts are worried about wear on his arm from baseball, and GM’s are worried that he will be in his mid-thirties when he reaches his second contract. He will need to adjust to the speed of the league and it takes some quarterbacks as long as 8 years to make that adjustment. He would have to be great right away, and that’s a tough expectation.
As such, a conservative grade for this player is the mid rounds, possibly as high as the late third. There are projections that have him higher than that, and we shall see. To be clear, he’s not a bad player, just carrying the baggage of his age. On a personal note, I root for this player, as there is a lot to like about his game, (and even more to like about his intangibles as a leader).
On the other side of the spectrum, San Diego State quarterback Ryan Lindley is getting blasted for his accuracy issues (which are significant). But let’s run down the positives: he has an extremely live arm, he has been successful throwing slants and the deep ball, and unlike other quarterbacks here, he stands much taller than six feet tall. Lindley has the upside to improve and is an interesting late-round developmental backup prospect.
Arizona wide out Juron Criner had an outstanding day, making multiple plays all over the field. Notably, Criner made the catch of the week to date with a wonderful one-handed grab of a ball thrown well behind him. As with all the wide receivers, his draft value will depend on workouts, and he looks like a long stride who might have trouble timing well on the track. Regardless, he has possession and red zone value and certainly helped his stock today. Criner is a mid-round prospect with upside to go top 100 with a good 40-yard dash.
Still a little heartbroken.
I’m still a little heartbroken from the season, and i’m still on the fence with Sporano, but i’m starting to come around and get back on the saddle with the team. Hopefully this off-season will make us stronger now that we know what’s wrong. As far as the draft, If we do go after Mike Adams in the first round we have to go after a OLB in FA. Also a S. Still in the second we have to address the OLB situation for the future. I’m pretty sure we can get some decent talent in the second round.

Good teams are built up front
on the offensive and defensive lines. It is no coincidence that the Patriots with the best offensive line in football are facing the Giants with the best defensive line in football in the Superbowl. Signing high profile guys like Holmes and Plaxico and even reaching to pick sanchez in the first round are meant to put asses in the seats. Championships are Won in the trenches.
