"@GAlexander21 will be happy to hear that the #Jets have been linked to Boise State RB Doug Martin at the Senior Bowl."
Directed to S Gerald Alexander. I'd imagine CB Kyle Wilson would also be very happy with us drafting Martin.

Don't take too much out of this
Every team will talk with every player at some point. Usually the ones they have a major interest in they invite to a nighttime meeting.

NO MORE RUNNINGBACKS!
we already have 3 young RB’s on the roster… the only RB i want in this draft is trent richardson and if we got him i’d trade Shonn Greene in a heartbeat!

Team X talking to player X means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Besides, David Wilson is 100x better than this guy.

Certain people it’s worth mentioning. The Giants love people from BC so for them, talking to a player is worth it. Likewise, if there are several Boise people on the team, it could be worth mentioning. Same thing if it’s a position of need or a stud of a player.

They don't even talk about football when the Scouts talk to players after Senior Bowl practice.
They ask the players “Are you single/married?” “What kind of work does your father do?” and “How did you handle your money in college?”…stuff like that.

Which is all stuff they consider when they’re looking to draft. Remember Ireland’s question to Dez about his mother? You think he really cared about the answer, or was he looking to see how Dez handled himself?

By Sunday, the Jets will have talked to every single Senior Bowl prospect.
and they’ll have asked them all the same questions. Background info. Its routine. Doesn’t mean anything. Every team does it and it is zero indication of whether the team is actually interested in a player or not.

If we take someone from Boise State I want it to be Kellen Moore.. and yes i’ll be very redundant on this topic. Annoyingly so.
I think Jim Leonhard should be in the next Nike "Boom" Commercial or at least the next time he makes one of those tackles he needs to jump up with a can of Kool-Aid and shout "Oh yeah".
Moore
has a wet noodle for an arm. I want absolutely nothing to do with that overhyped scrub. As for Doug Martin I give that a thumbs down as well.

NOODLE ARMS ARE PEOPLE TOO!
And That Is a JET FIRST DOWN!!!
No This is Patrick...

Moore has had a pretty horrific senior bowl week so far.
His arm has been exposed and it’s clear that he cannot start in the league ever. He is weak and can’t pick up the blitz. I don’t see what you don’t like about Martin. Might be the second best running back in this class. Powerful, explosive, great blocker, great hands, hits the whole well. I love Martin.

Martin
from the little I have seen of him I dont think he has the breakaway speed I am looking for. It would be nice if this team actually had a legitimate HR threat at RB. I do admit that I have not seen him play more than a few times so I will rethink my opinion after watching more clips.
I really have no interest in drafting a RB before the 4th or 5th round anyway unless we trade down and stockpile picks. If this team doesnt draft at least one if not two pass rushers I will be enraged. We have ignored this glaring need for far too long and that must end now.

You say you're looking for breakaway speed, but that's not what Rex wants.
Ground n’ pound. Inside the tackle. He wants guys who will churn out 4 or 5 yards every time. Get yards after contact. Wear down the defense as the game goes on. If you want a fast running back go to Oakland or Philly.

That is the problem completely
the fact that this team thinks they are going to grind out wins. That is not how to win championships. Get ready for a bunch of 15 play drives capped off by field goals.

After watching Kellen Moore for the last 4 years up close and personal I am very bias’d of course but what you guys may or may not be seeing in the senior bowl does not indicate the winningest college QB… regardless of conference. I have seen that kid show more than Sanchez has shown me – except maybe in those playoff games… and I happen to be on the keep Sanchez bandwagon.
I think Jim Leonhard should be in the next Nike "Boom" Commercial or at least the next time he makes one of those tackles he needs to jump up with a can of Kool-Aid and shout "Oh yeah".
We already have a bunch of running backs
but i guess another couldn’t hurt. what round is he projected to go in? 3? 4?
Ugh...
just because they talked to him after practice, it doesn’t mean they are drafting him. He is projected round 2 but seriously…don’t take ANYTHING out of this. The Jets scouts that are there will talk to every single prospect at the Senior Bowl.

yeah ik
in all realism it wouldn’t make much sense to take a running back in an earlier round anyway, we’ve still got Bilal Powell who we need to find out more about, on top of Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight. We need to focus on things like OLB, RT, and Saftey
I wish we would take him in the 2nd round or later thou
because we do have a few runningbacks ,he constantly makes one guy miss with our O-line blocking in Sporano’s system that made Reggie Bush a real NFL halfback for the first time, It’ll be nice .
Martin, Mcknight and Green … MMG!
The Hardest thing for some men to do is .... Believe what they see!
Martin is a beast
Wouldn’t mind drafting him
Oh yes that's right, I'm a Jets fan.

YESSSS.
I already called it over on Mocking the Draft but I think this guy is going to be the best runningback out of this class. I like what you’re doing, front office!
