Brandon Moore Makes the Pro Bowl
Since the Pro Bowl is now the week before the Super Bowl, any Super Bowl participants elected to the game cannot participate. Patriots guard Brian Waters is one of them. Brandon Moore has been selected as his replacement.
Moore joins two of his fellow Jets linemen, center Nick Mangold and left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson, on the AFC roster -- the first time the Jets have sent three offensive linemen since 2009, when Mangold and Ferguson were selected along with Alan Faneca.
This is Moore's first Pro Bowl selection. It is an odd one considering this was probably his worst year since 2007. He was a pretty good pass protector, but I thought his run blocking took a step back this year. It also seems odd that a team with as shaky offensive line play as the Jets had is sending 60% of its unit to Hawaii.
This probably makes up for Brandon getting snubbed the past few years. Congrats to him.

that's the one saving grace
at least we dont have 5 sub-par lineman. we have 3 above average, one good and one HORRENDOUS. the line as a whole was bad this year, but its a fixable problem

If only slauson was recognized too... He is turning into a solid o-lineman
Great for b-Moore though.
Let's Make sure we play like the f***in NEW YORK JETS
and not some f***in slapd**k team!
AGREED
Moore was the ONLY NFL guard to NOT allow a sack or QB knockdown this year. Run-blocking, are you kidding me? When you have Hunter and Keller/Mulligan to Moore’s right, what do you expect? Can’t really know but if Turner was to his right, our run game to the right side would have had better outcomes. Moore’s one of elite RGs in the NFL and, finally, gets the recognition he deserves!
I call it "the London Fletcher effect"
After a while with the media and fans calling a guy a Pro Bowl snub (and deservedly so in Moore’s case), that player eventually gets put in in the Pro Bowl when he doesn’t deserve it.
London Fletcher was elite, and getting snubbed, now he's still good but not elite
And he gets in regularly.

Um, no not necessarily...
I would venture to say tackle stats are almost entirely meaningless.
1. They aren’t official.
2. They are entirely subjective when you talk about assisted tackles. Being the 4th guy on the pile could make you an “assisted tackler” but in reality you probably made no difference.
3. Even if official and totally accurate, that’s not a tell-all barometer of LB play because…
4. Tackles can become an empty stat when they are consistently made 4-5 yards downfield OR
5. When the defense is constantly on the field, giving you more snaps to inflate your tackle total.
Not all this is to say that Fletcher sucks, I think he’s a very good linebacker, but being a great linebacker for a while and having the media beat the drum for him while he’s getting snubbed got him into the Pro Bowl in 09 even though he probably wasn’t one of the 2 best ILB that year and his team was horrid.

i'm aware that tackles isn't necessarily and indicator of how good you are
but that’s still pretty damn impressive considering he’s 36
Does anyone know a good twitter source to get up to date Jets info. Manish Cimini and Vrentas are qnnoying me posting shit about the giants and pats. I want just jets info.
well the only thing interesting right now is giants and pats.
After the super bowl we’ll see more jets info
Let's Make sure we play like the f***in NEW YORK JETS

I guess thats a good point. It just bothers me when these jets beat writers are writing about the giants

These peeps still have to make a living
If NFL is anything like MLB, they dont like eliminated teams doing much during championship weeks, as they dont want focus off the big game. I doubt there will be any big news coming from Jets till after SB.
Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.
