As a Jet fan i’m hurting inside….as a New Yorker and football fan I do hope the Giants win. I can stand the trophy coming to NY, than Tom Brady and the F’ing Patriots winning another one.

Same here

Ralph Kiner: You've gotta change the script, I don't like the script.
Gary Cohen: What's wrong with the script?
Ralph Kiner: Well the script should be the Mets win every day.

Giants

Because Eli Manning is the freakin MAN. All those that busted his chops for all those years while he’s been nothin but clutch can go stick it. And bc I love watching JPP dominate when everybody and their mother said he would bust. And bc Ahmad Bradshaw plays football like a man should. And bc Osi is lights out in the clutch. And bc Nix and Cruuuuuzzzz will make a play if there’s a play to be made, even if it kills them. And bc Coughlin deserves to tell everybody to stick it too. And bc its still NY baby.

But most of all I want the Giants to win bc when the chips were down, and they were down and out facing the dreaded late season collapse, they turned to each other and not on each other and they believed in themselves and left their hearts, their guts and their blood on the field.

I know you wont agree

but thats called chemistry crack! and I agree with your what you said 1000%

by Crawdady on Jan 23, 2012 12:45 PM EST up reply actions

Chemistry is the result of good plays, not the cause of good plays, imo. When good plays are made with regularity, guys start to become more hopeful that they’ll happen again. And if happen with even more regularity, then they begin to expect it to happen again. That is all chemistry is really: the unified expectation of a positive outcome.

Therefore, you need playmakers to build chemistry. You need guys that can go out there and create the the expectation of a positive outcome. You can’t do that with guys like Hunter and Smith manning crucial positions.

The Giants have chemistry bc they have playmakers. Eli, JPP, Osi, Tuck, Cruz, Nix, Bradshaw… They have a bunch of guys that run around and make shit happen. They believe in each other bc they’ve made plays for each other a million times before.

We don’t have enough playmakers. That’s why we didnt have chemistry down the stretch. Nobody was there to make a dynamic, game-changing play. We have one on offense, but we don’t throw it him.

have to admit

The Giants have greatly impressed me. To start the season with so many injuries, constantly hearing about the Jets, and going through their annual late season swoon, only to make it this far is incredible. As much as i admittedly was hating on them, that stops here. Always got to pull for NY when facing Boston or Philly.

Maybe the Jets can learn something from the Giants!

I wanna say Pats, becuase it so hard to deal with arrogant Giants fans in school. I can’t take it anymore. At least I don’t have to deal with Pats fans at school. But then again I have an unbelievable hatred of Tom Brady and Bellicheck. I don’t think I can take another Pats SB win. In the end, I guess I have to go with the Giants, by default, only becuase they are from NY.

those are my thoughts exactly

but maybe Tom will contemplate retirement if he wins again. Nah, that’s just my pipe dream. And I actually kinda like Eli, maybe cause he fought through all the same criticism that Sanchez currently does, and i wouldn’t mind seeing him get another ring…but then again, i’d get a mouthful from all those underachieving gmen fans

Just imagine if the Pats won??

The NFL would probably schedule the NFL opener to be Jets vs Pats. Where we’d have to watch them hoist their banner and celebrate in our faces. Then the game starts and we kick their ass :). But still… Giants all the way.

Let's Make sure we play like the f***in NEW YORK JETS
and not some f***in slapd**k team!

by jets4life24 on Jan 23, 2012 9:32 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Ok, there is a huge difference between i hate them with a burning passion and i'm not going to watch.

I hate both teams with a burning passion, but that doesn’t mean i’m not going to watch.

The Jets will win the Super Bowl one day and that will be the day i laugh in your face if your not a Jets fan.

by sanchise6 on Jan 23, 2012 3:08 PM EST reply actions

I'm feeling a 2007 redux.

While the Pats might not have their heads as far up their tookuses as they did in 07, they’ll have it up their enough to eek out a lose to a red hot Giants team again. The Pats had Julian Edalman playing on Boldin yesterday, that alone shows how bad the Ravens offense is. Edalman and their off the street CBs will get exposed big time on the largest stage of them all. Lee Evans, and Cundiff won’t be there to give them a win.

This is worst case scenario

We are doomed back to the ‘little brother’ basement with the Giants in another SB. Any positive progression with 2 AFC appearances has vanished. Even if we win a SB next year, the Giants can brag about going to 2 SB in 4 years with Coughlin.

On the other hand, Brady and Belichick might as well not even show up. Just bring some bronze statues of them and plant them in the middle of the field. This SB trip is going to put them on some insane ‘best franchise ever’ level (BS!!!!) that I can’t even stomach. The media is way to soft on them now, can you even believe how they are going to be now, win or lose?

Its worst case scenario for a Jets fan. I will watch, because I’m still American, but I will not be rooting for either team to win. Instead, I will be rooting for both to lose.
