Joe Philbin new HC of MIA
Meet the new head coach of the Miami Dolphins, former Green Bay offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. Philbin has worked for the Packers the last five years , although he did not call the plays, he did help the team prepare during practice and help install game plans. You can't argue with the efficiency of Green Bay's offense, which kind of worries me as a Jets fan. With the Patriots already a pass first team, the Bills seem to be moving that way, and now the Dolphins, the Jets defense is gonna have their hands full. It will be interesting to see how Miami moves from being a run first offense(under HC Tony Sprano and OC Brian Daboll) to now a pass happy team with Philbin. I'm sure he will take someone from GB's staff to run the offense, which means Daboll will be out and he will most likely end up with the Jets. I'm sure Philbin will convince Ireland to sign Matt Flynn as a FA, who better to run his offense than a former Packer. The Dolphins already have a good defense, they have two good receivers in Bess and Marshall, so this move does concern me. What does the rest of GGN think??

not really, im hoping the fish get good
Same for Buffalo, I want the AFC EAST to be considered the best division in football. Also, there’s been countless times an OC or DC becomes a head coach but don’t have the success as a coach as they had at their previous position. Last, I would be more scared if the fish gets a good/great QB.

Not Me
I hate all 3 of the other AFC East teams. I want them to be perennial doormats so the Jets can lord it over them the way they did over us for 40 odd years. Eff those teams.

I hope this philbin guy ends up as the next cam cameron
remember that 1-15 season? lol. One positive however to the bills and dolphins getting better is that they can beat the patriots and start their dethroning process.
I don't have the energy to hate the Bills
they’ve done enough to themselves on their own since the 90’s. I must say though, it was satisfying to see them end their season that way after many Bills fans gave me grief earlier in the year about how they had arrived and were not being paid the appropriate amount of respect.
Don’t count your chickens. Over 40 years of character building through defeat will teach that virtue to anybody.

LOL
It’s getting harder and harder to hate the Bills, but I still have too many nightmares of what Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly and those teams did to us year in and year out.

The game that probably felt the best was beating the Bills in week 8.
We shut the fans up, and the players up. On the road also.
The Jets will win the Super Bowl one day and that will be the day i laugh in your face if your not a Jets fan.
agreed
just look at Todd Haley and Steve Spags, those guys were good Coordinaters but lousy HCs…Im more happy with the Packers losing thier OC than I am the Dolphins gaing a HC, I dont know if any of you guys have noticed just how annoying Packer fans have become lately, lol…hopefully Rodgers tanks it next year since i hear his other Offense Coach Tom Clements is heading to Oakland
"The message to the rest of the league is, hey, the Jets are coming, and we're going to give you everything we got. And I think that's going to be more than you can handle"
Clements to Oakland has yet to be decided.
Oakland has moved on to other interviews. Many think Clements may follow Philbin to Miami as OC, but GB could block that move. I also think Clements is the top candidate to replace Philbin as GB’s OC.

I Definitely Think
that there’s a very strong possibility that Clements will become the next OC of the Packers. God, I hope he doesn’t go to the Raiders. They are the only team I may hate worse than the Cowpukes.

Don't want him
but you know Sparano will bring him here

it might not happen
the fact they haven’t made a move yet on empty coaching positions could mean they’re interested in someone still playing this weekend.
I'm concerned about our QB being under the thumb of a Sparano accolyte.

No Daboll
this guy is another clown that we dont need. We need Hue Jackson or Todd Haley. As a Jets fan I dont like that they hired someone from Green Bay.
Why are we hiring offensive coaches from Miami anyway? They have been every bit as inept on offense as we have been.

well think about it like this
he’d never get a Job as an OC in the first place if he wasn’t a good position coach…at least I hope that’s the case. Either way this division is gonna get interesting.
Why?
You want him? I bet Henne already has a Jet jersey hanging in his locker at Florham Park!

No, I'm just thinking if he gets Flynn he can install his offense very quickly in Miami
And that could be good for them, and consequently, not so good for us.

Well
if there’s anything we do well it’s cause misery for opposing quarterbacks…just as long as they don’t attack the middle
Next year
we will have safeties and backers that will be able to cover

what's kinda unfortunate
is that the dolphins have some really good players that really hit their stride towards the end of the season. Reggie bush, Brandon marshall, Vontae Davis, Kevin Burnett, Paul Solial, they could be dangerous next year. We’re on the other end of the spectrum, we’re a talented team that kinda fell off and needs to get back on it’s feet. The bills…eh, i hope we can bully them like we always do.
Yea, can't forget Vontae Davis, best cornerback in the league
according to himself.
JOEY MAC BRINGS IT TO THE HOUSE
Joe Philbin + Matt Flynn = trouble
They’ve got some decent guys in place on offense already. With a good QB and a good system in place, they become an instant threat. Flynn may be a mirage, but as we know McCarthy is great at developing QBs. Add in a high draft pick and well… Fffffffuuuuuu—
This is why you WAIT and do your f***ing homework before hiring people to your god damn organization. Sparano was such a backwards ass reactionary hiring. We could’ve made a move for Clements or Vince Lombardi’s kid in NO or someone, ANYONE that actually knows about passing the ball. This is why the Jets will never be in the same class as the Pats, the Steelers, the Packers, etc. Sigh.

I don’t think Sparano was a reactionary hiring. They wanted him all along. Schotty was never coming back. They wanted a tough guy to deal with this Sanchez- Holmes shit, and they wanted to simplify the offense, and run more. Sparano fit all those criteria.
