Schotty's performance with the Rams in 2012

I commented below in paragraphs to do my real post. Not sure why my computer will only let me post a big blob, it is really frustrating. If anyone has any ideas on fixing this, please let me know. I hope you all enjoy my post below and I hope someone can tell me what is going wrong with my computer. I am using windows Vista and am perfectly capable of breaking up my posts into paragraphs. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I tried cutting and pasting from word and that didn't work. I tried editing from visual view and that didn't work. I tried editing afterwards, making paragraphs, saving drafts, looking around the website. Maybe I'm missing a program on my computer or something I don't know. Well, I'm just about done with this part so any ideas would be welcome and thanks for reading this !

My actual post

Now that Schotty is going to be the OC for the Rams, I think it’s time to put predictions in writing so that Jets fans can either be proven right or wrong on the Schotty subject. Just to recap, the average Jets fan believes the following about Schotty:
1. He is completely incapable of calling plays. Depending on who you ask, he either runs too much, passes too much, passes when he should be running, runs when he should be passing, runs up the middle when he should have run off tackle, doesn’t mix it up enough, or does stupid trickplays when he should have Sanchez do simple drop back passes. And when those don’t work because the defense has no fear of the longball, then he should have run it again, even though that wasn’t working either.

2. He cannot groom a QB at all. According to this line of thinking, Sanchez would be a great game manager if it wasn’t for Schotty’s incompetence. The inability of Sanchez to understand a remotely complex offense or to read a defense accurately or to progress through more than one read in five or less seconds is solely the fault of Schotty.

3. He doesn’t impose any sort of discipline on his offense (BTW this point I think is the most valid as the offense was totally undisciplined)

So, now that we can’t blame all of our problems on Schotty anymore, and since we really can’t predict what Sparano will do as he hasn’t done anything yet, I am posing a question below. Please put your answer down and be prepared to admit if you are wrong… Will the Rams offense move forward, stagnate, or move backward with Schotty as the OC? Since the Rams were 31st in total yards gained in 2011, and since it would be too easy if I said 30th was a step forward, I will define forward as 16th or better, stagnate as 17th through 22nd, and anything worse as backward, as with that type of performance the Rams have no chance of a winning record. They will also have the benefit of Bradford being in his 3rd year and the draft picks they will get in 2012. So, I think a fair standard for Schotty is to be better than at least half in the league.

My prediction is that Schotty will get them to at least 16th in the league (although I don’t think it will be much more than that). I don’t know that he is the best out there, but I think he’s more than good enough to move that offense forward. Please Jets fans that have continuously used Schotty as the scapegoat, please post your opinions and don’t be shy. The good news is we will now get to see, unequivocally, if you are right or wrong. If you are right, he will not even be able to achieve stagnating status, as he is so stupid, incompetent, useless, and just outright awful like his father that there is no way he can even get them there. I don’t want to hear it was Fisher, or the GM, or the players, or any other excuses. He is the OC, he got the blame on the Jets and he will get the credit or blame for the Rams.

P.S. You can see clearly that it is my opinion that the Jets problems are in the personnel department, which IMO falls on a combination of Woody, Mike and Rex, as all of them have a hand in the philosophy that has guided the signings, trades and drafts of the last three years.

I call...

stagnate…17th through 22nd. It may be on what additional pieces they give him to work with out there…we know at least 3 of the key pieces in Bradford, Jackson, and Lloyd (I’m not sure if any are about to be free agents).

I’m going to call Sanchez shows improvement also!

Does he have a job? WOW!

He’s not going to bring anything tho the table there, that he didn’t here.

Seeing as there is no chance that Bradford could be as dumb as Sanchez, I see really good things going on in St. Louis in 2013. No, its not a typo, I said 2013, not 2012. The Rams have a pretty difficult schedule next year, so I think it will take some time. The only game on the road I could see them winning is at Tampa, and thats not a given. At home, maybe they beat the Vikings and Skins.

Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.

they did beat the Saints .. so..

they also had 6 Corners on the DL ,Bradford missed 6 games ,Mike Sims-Walker will be healthy and a full yr for Brandon Lloyd should help as well.

things change from yr to yr.

I may not be the most noble of men but in a town of lepers, im the one with the most fingers.

Giant LB'zz SUCK!! Mark Herzlich, Jacquian Williams,...Maybe .. Sadly this has been modified.

Two predictions so far

Okay, I’m hoping this post catches on enough to get a nice 15-20 predictions at least. My last Schotty post was, with a couple of exceptions, almost universally trashed. I was either delusional, related to Schotty, or paid by him to make the comments I did. I just want to see now, with him on another team and with the ability to prove his naysayers wrong, what people are willing to predict will happen…

It All Depends

upon a number of things. Will Bradford stay healthy? Who will the Rams draft? If they get Blackmon for Bradford, things could improve markedly for the Rams.

That said, unless BS has learned from his mistakes of the last 6 years and makes major changes I think things will stagnate at best, and probably will go backwards. Things often get better with a change of scenery. Fisher probably isn’t as conservative and run-oriented as Rex, so there shouldn’t be any conficts there. He has a better QB and starting RB to work with. I don’t know what the OL is like there. Still, I’ll be shocked beyond words if he gets anywhere near #16.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. I'm assuming Blackmon

Is the Rams draft pick this year. With a healthy Rodger Saffold at LT, Steven Jackson, Sam Bradford, Brandon Lloyd (assuming he’s re=signed) and Blackmon, Schotty will have more overall to work with. To earn his $, he needs to get them into the top half IMO, otherwise he hasn’t done anything special. Although I agree with one poster that it may be 2013. But either way, he needs to show significant progress otherwise he will prove the Jets fans correct.

I vote stagnation

he will be new…even for a competent coach that is not an easy task (not impossible and not hard….but not easy)
Also i see more conservative playcalling because its all eyes on him and the WORLD (not just NYC) will want to know if it was him or his personell. So he will be causious…when that backfires he will go back to wacky shotty and it will be like quicksand the more he struggles the quicker he will sink

Steven Jackson has a career low in touches and yards.

He asks for a trade prior to the year being our. Bradford is on IR prior to week 3.

Something interesting

With all of LT’s comments recently, there hasn’t been much about either him blaming Schotty or others blaming Schotty. The issues have almost all circulated around Sanchez. Other than a comment saying that they shouldn’t have fixed something that wasn’t broken (i.e. try to throw the ball more rather than stick to ground/pound) there wasn’t anything else. Also, the Daily News article with the Jets players focused solely around Sanchez and didn’t even mention Schotty. Even the comment by LT wouldn’t entirely be on Schotty for two reasons:

1. The Jets wanted to go to the super bowl and it was not unreasonable to expect Sanchez to do more for the team in order for them to get there and win.

2. Last time I checked, Rex was the head coach. So, if he thought the game plan of the last two years, which was to run alot and hide Sanchez, was enough, then he could have changed it back before he did.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, now the reason Sanchez couldn’t function was the “verbiage”…
