I have a feeling the jets will end up taking this guy instead of a pass rusher in the 1st round. Rex made an interesting point on a radio show a few weeks ago: they've only drafted 3 defensive players since he's been here. Plus, i feel like the organization would want to make a "sexy" pick. Idk, i'd rather have an OLB.

I would love it if they picked up jeffery man looks like a beast

I think McShay also had us taking him in his mock draft
But that was at pick #20 at a time when it looked like we’d be in the playoffs
I don't want a wide receiver until the third round
because our offense does not really involve wide receivers all that much, and it shouldn’t. With Sparano at the helm of the playcalling, Rex having his desire to get back to the ground and pound, and maybe Todd Haley coming in, we will likely be running the ball about 35 times per game. Why wouldn’t we take someone who could help us there, like Trent Richardson should he fall to us? If there is no one to help with the running game at pick 16, I’d like us to go with either Courtney Upshaw or Nick Perry at outside linebacker or trade down. In the third round, my favorite receiver is Brian Quick. He has first round ability, is 6’5", surprisingly fast, is a good blocker, and the level of competition he played over at Appalachian State will put his stock in the 3rd/4th round.

I'm not super high on a receiver either
I really like Jeffrey and wouldn’t mind him in the slightest, but i still think we need more quality depth and speed at OLB. I don’t want Richardson. I’m well aware that he’s a fantastic prospect, but I think we’ll be fine with Shonn Grenne’s power and Joe McKnight’s speed. We led the league in rushing with TJ and Leon Washington, who are basically older clones of those two. All is not lost if we don’t draft a RB, we need to address other areas first.
I hate that people are giving titles to Joe McKnight, no offense
He has not really shown anything at all yet except as a kick returner. Sure, he is the fastest running back we have, but how can someone label him a younger Leon Washington without actually seeing him break a run longer than 18 yards on 82 career rushing attempts?

i think that's sort of his point
they both have similar moves and speed when returning kicks but we need to see more of him . but having the box stacked won’t help him break any runs .
if its for you it won't pass you
no trading up!
someone worthwhile is bound to drop to 16
as you can see from my latest mock , i'm on the jeffery bandwagon
people keep saying wr isn’t a BIG need but we don’t have a #1 wr on our team.
jeffery is the player we are missing , he will help in all aspects of the offense and make our other wr’s easier for sanchez to find .
i would expect sanchez to improve more with a true # 1 wr on the team and getting another young guy to add to keller and kerley will benefit the team going into the future
if its for you it won't pass you
Richardson or Trade Down
I doubt very much Richardson will be there at 16. If he is, you pick him. Shonn and Richardson would be the perfect tandem for a ‘pound and ground’ oriented offense. If Richardson is not there, then trade down to 22-26 and take Adcock for RT and add another 3rd rounder [2nd round, if possible].
Our two biggest needs are RT and the two Safeties. We might get a stop-gap RT and longer-term FS or SS in FA. But, returning to a run offense DEMANDS a better RT than Hunter — and, we don’t know Turner’s condition. Adcock is a pure RT Turner is an good RT who can also play Guard and Center. So, Turner’s a keeper. Hunter is not. Getting a stop-gap RT from Free Agency is a good idea if, for no other reason, than depth.
Take Adcock, late in the 1st, an OLB in 2nd, SS or FS in 3rd, WR or RB in 4th. After that, it’s a crap-shoot.
Shonn Greene is a good RB and can be a feature back
He would have had at least 1200-1300 yds if schotty ran the ball early in the year. Trent is an unnecesary pick. Now i wouldnt be upset if they took him, but he shouldnt be a Jets priority.
looks like he has great hands but little break-away speed
For a highlight reel it shows him getting chased down an awful lot?
