Joey Clinkscales to Interview with Rams

Jets Vice President of College Scouting, Joey Clinkscales, has received permission to interview for the Rams General Manager position, per Jenny Vrentas, via Twitter. Clinkscales is the head scout for the Jets, and is extremely influental in how the Jets draft. I'm sure there will be more on this if he receives the job, but for now, good luck to him as he interviews. No date has been set yet for the interview.

Lets hope

we keep Clinkscales.Its never good for an organization to lose bright guys and Clinkscales appears to be one of our best guys.

Hue jackson

has been fired by the Raiders. I think it is very very likely that he is our next offensive coordinator. He is not high on my list but he is far better than the likes of Koetter and Sparano.

Before, my top choice was Callahan for OC, Gannon for QB Coach, and Sparano for line coach. Hue Jackson though is very appealing.

This actually really bothers me.

I was really excited to see him and his crew work a full draft for the Jets. We have more picks this year then we have had in a long time.
I hope he stays.

He has been with the Jets for 17 years.

But he’s been VP of College Scouting for the last 4. So atually no. He’s actually never had a real full draft to work with as VP. 2006 was the last full draft we have had.

I have mixed feelings

For years I’ve not been all that enthused about Jets drafts and talent evaluation. I believe that Tanny is the biggest part of the problem and Bradway before him, but have wondered if Clinkscales and the other scouts could be partially or equally to blame. If he’s really that good and Tanny is the problem, let’s hope he stays. If he’s part of the problem, then the Rams can take him. I just hope that it works out well for the Jets. Either way, the Jets will be scrambling to replace him at the most critical time of the year, and that can’t help the Jets’ draft.
