Sunday Night Football Open Thread

8-7 Dallas Cowboys vs. 8-7 New York Giants

The winner wins a division full of mediocre teams.

SUNDAY NIGHT IS FOOTBALL NIGHT!

In all seriousness, the Giants meet the Cowboys tonight with the NFC East title on the line. The winner gets the 4 seed and a home game next weekend in the NFC Playoffs. The loser gets a long and bitter offseason to think about all the winnable games it let slip away and has to watch its bitter rival celebrate a division title. Lord only knows what to expect from these two inconsistent teams. Nothing would surprise me.

Also feel free to use this space to mourn the untimely demise of the Jets' season. Time will tell if the Giants join them as a monument to the mediocrity that is New York football in the 2011 NFL season.

As always, just be sure to abide by our community guidelines.

Hoping Giants win so Jets dont get bailed out

I dont want the Giants getting all the heat for losing. I want Jets on backpages so Woody is embarrased and makes changes.

Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.

Even if the Giants do lose

You can count on Fatty for making tomorrows show about the Jets

It seems like Costa is snapping the ball soft in the shotgun for Romo’s hand.

the problem with rob's defense tho

is that whenever he blitzes he doesn’t have the corners to cover the receivers in man coverage. Causes a lot of big plays

by darshv3 on Jan 1, 2012 9:15 PM EST up reply actions

Defintly doesnt have the corners we have....

Off topic but...

I just read Tomlinson’s comments on Holmes. Really wild. I’ve never heard anyone called out like that by another player.

the best he can do is stand up for the kids who were working their tails off.

I hate the Jets for this..

They not only destroy their own season but help these over-playing Giants save their season and make them look like they’re really better than they are. Losing 5 out of 7 and still win the division. Look forward to them being brought back to reality…very soon.

by winnebagosun on Jan 1, 2012 9:19 PM EST reply actions

yeah if they make the playoffs

the falcons would take a dump on them. at least i hope they would. I live in a community filled with obnoxious giants fans.

Romo is as dumb as Sanchez..

Fool could have ran for that 1st down but he’s scared to death of being hit on his hand.

Could have picked it up and then a bunch of extra yardage after.

I can tell you already.

Slowly everybody will talk themselves into the thought that Schotty was the only problem with Sanchez, and everything will be ok with the new guy until eventually everybody is guaranteeing Super Bowl. Hopefully they will be right.

Ha!

I made that exact jump tonite. While fingerplugging my ears and LA-LA-LA’ing at all evidence to the contrary.

Eli made the jump. Brees made the jump. And… That did it for me. Well that and the potential stud we’re gonna get at 16.

So many options

Guys like Upshaw, Richardson, Rieff, and Jeffrey could all be there. Or we could trade into the top ten and get a guy like Blackmon

Oh yes that's right, I'm a Jets fan.

From Cimini

2012 SCHEDULE: The non-divisional schedule looks like this:

Home — Cardinals, Texans, Colts, 49ers and Raiders.
Road — Jaguars, Seahawks, Rams, Titans and Steelers.

by CervezaVerde on Jan 1, 2012 10:05 PM EST reply actions

Who knows what they'll look like

49ers and Steelers will still be tough. Texans probably too. Titans? meh. Colts will be interesting.

Only ones I'd be concerned about are..

Definitely the 9ers, Steelers though I think there is alot of age on that team. Maybe the Texans. The Colts we don’t know how Manning will do coming back. Everything else is meh. Of course that’s what we thought this year. I’m very much looking forward to the draft and off season moves to see a new group of guys mesh in here.

I can't say its TOO easy

Still have 2 games with Pats, 49ers, Steelers, Texans… Raiders and Titans could be tough

I can't believe

Dallas is down 3 TDs to these jokers. Disgusting.

Live ironic and whatnot.

Aye, watching the press conference is more frustrating then the game.

Rex is either obvious or a poor panderer. You are the HC of a team that puts up terrible performances, hold someone accountable. Every team that’s beat us this year deserves a ton of credit? No, our offense is an embarrassment. Put some leather to ass and do something different.

by Timmaht on Jan 1, 2012 10:24 PM EST reply actions

Sometimes I turn on the TV and think 'wow, is Rex homeless'?

Then I remember he has a win brother.
