Tyron Smith Likely Out Sunday Against New York Jets
Rookie starting right tackle Tyron Smith will probably be out for the Cowboys Sunday after suffering an injury in practice today.
Smith is expected to miss at least two weeks with a knee injury he suffered in practice Wednesday.
That leaves starting left tackle Doug Free and Smith’s backup, second-year undrafted free agent Jeremy Parnell, as the Cowboys try to get ready for the season opener against the New York Jets.
Dallas' offensive line was not looking so hot to begin with. Smith was one of three projected starters on the line who have one combined start. Parnell did not play a down last year according to Pro Football Focus. He has never been highly rated, and was not starting for a reason.
This is especially significant because it is on the side of the line where rookie Muhammad Wilkerson is set to line up. Wilkerson might be the biggest question mark on the defense after an uneven preseason. Any downgrade at right tackle benefits him. We already know Sione Pouha and Mike Devito on the line are going to be very difficult for Dallas to handle.

He’s gotta be bringing the whole playbook at them… exotic blitzes, stunts, CB and S delayed blitzes, everything.
Just tryna make bank, bro.

you frogot kenrick ellis on that list
if we throw kenrick at them, and we are going to need a lot of people, i think romo would die.

Unfortunately Yahoo Fantasy Football made me autopick Romo. Not going to be a very fun first week.
You may be wondering how I love Alabama AND I love the Jets... I'll just tell you that the answer is complicated and will take too long to explain.

Let's get a 2 TD lead and just overload on both sides of the ball. HIT HIT HIT ROMO!!
We must make a statement. The amount of hate on the jets that I see on NFL.com ESPN.com and bleacher report is insane!! The world must be awakened.
the jets really do get lucky
people get hurt right before they play us all the time, its crazy
"This could be the worst disaster we've ever faced"
"With all due respect, sir, I believe this is gonna be our finest hour"
We need to crush this team.
Despite all your success and feats that usually give teams proper respect, the jets receive NONE. NFL.com is sick with haters. The jets must set the tone for the season. CRUSH THESE BOYS and DOMINATE!!!!!

See this is where I don't understand where Cowboy fans are coming from.
Go to BTB and you can read multiple articles about how the fan base sees this young infusion of talent at the starting O-line as a not just a thing to look forward to in the future but a vast improvement on what they had last year.
Ok I understand the line played poorly last year but to talk up a bunch of rookie’s like they are gonna be a factor in winning any games early on isn’t just stretching the truth, it’s complete insanity.
Your telling me 4 preseason games is enough to know if your problems are solved? Gimme a break. The line is being OVERHAULED. And now one of the teams rookie wonder boys got tweaked in practice. This isn’t gonna be pretty.
Do you have any idea what is about to happen this weekend?
Tony Romo’s line is about to serve him up like it’s a pig roast.
I’m not even kidding his lung capacity is going to get seriously compromised on sunday
