I do not understand some of the moves the Jets made in trying to cut down their roster to 53 players. It appears to me that the approach we took was not the only one that could have been taken, There was a more productive approach then what we did.
Since we hope to have them back this year, we did not place them on IR. I am given to understand that they were not eligible for the PUP list since they were injured in training camp, while they were on an active roster. This means we will start the season with only 50 players.
These players were not well known front line starters. Why could we not just cut them, knowing that no team will pick them up off the waiver wire and let them sit for six weeks. When they once again are healthy, could we not sign them again and cut those players on our team who are not performing well. This way we would enter the season with our full roster of 53 players.
