Jenny Vrentas says Logan Payne is going to be on the roster despite his injured wrist. If the Jets find a free agent they like, Payne could be the guy out the door, though.

As of now, Jets plan to keep WR Logan Payne (dislocated wrist) on 53-man roster, source says. BUT his status is considered day-to-day.

I said it before. I will say it again. Payne standing out on special teams means more than anything he could have done at wide receiver during the preseason. That is the way a guy like him can contribute to the team today.

With all of this said, I would expect Payne to be gone before too long, possibly even some time tonight. From the looks of things, he seems to be on deck in case somebody who can really help the club out shakes loose. There are going to be some good players cut.
