News yesterday came out that the Seahawks were unhappy with LB Aaron Curry's production, and have demoted him on the depth chart, allowing rookie LB K.J. Wright to start in place of Curry. This is interesting to me and poses the question, should the Jets inquire about acquiring Curry from the Seahawks via trade? I remember this guy coming out of Wake Forest and he was an absolute BEAST, I don't know why he hasn't produced up to expectations (only 6 sacks, and this is entering his third year) but to me that isn't horrible. He put up 70 tackles and 4 sacks last season along with 2 Forced Fumbles. I think he is progressing at least some- not absolutely nothing like Gholston/Maybin. There is serious potential here. Now I know, the Aaron Maybin/Gholston comparisons are going to come flying out of the woods on this one, but Curry has toolset to be successful and I believe would be an upgrade to our -not getting any younger- linebackers. I believe Rex could do something with this guy, but then again the same was said about Maybin/Gholston. The only difference here is that Maybin was No risk- this would be a price to pay (probably a 4th round pick at this point). To me, I believe that this is a worthy risk to take- I would love to see Curry in Jets green. Now I pose the question you all of you, should the Jets inquire about trading for Curry from the Seahawks?
