As many of you probably read, the leader and lifeblood of our beloved GangGreenNation suffered a recent loss in his family.
I may not be a staff writer for GangGreenNation, but even so, I would like to use this post to, with as much sincerity as I possibly can, show just how much I appreciate his efforts in making this site entertaining, intelligent, and just plain fun to be a part of. And I would strongly encourage any and all others who read this post to do the same.
First things first, John is not only a strong voice of reason dedicated to being as realistic as possible with our beloved Jets' chances at being considered among the NFL's elite - a status not held by the team since the LBJ Presidency - but he is also a person who has shown the willingness to stay up until the latest of late hours of the night to break down and analyze even the most subtle elements to the team's progression (or lack thereof) and gameplay (or lack thereof).
John's approach to running the site has been to make it as enjoyable for all of us, whether we are casual fans, diehard fans, or almost literally Bleed Green. I highly respect the tolerance he shows for other teams' blogs whether they are quieter than us or louder than us. I respect even more the intolerance he shows for trolls that try to rub it in and make us feel like...Luke McCown's gameplay this past weekend (that's a much better analogy than what I had originally).
He makes comments in almost every decent Fanpost in order to encourage (or discourage) that writer's way of thinking, and has even been nice enough to highlight the post on the front page if it has the merit.
But enough brown-nosing, on to more serious business.
John, if you are reading this, I want to wish you my sincerest condolences on your loss and am honored to have someone with your intensity, integrity, and intelligence as the site's leader. (My apologies for the obvious Kurt Angle reference.)
Jonathan M, aka MachlinT
P.S. As I suggested above, please leave your own appreciation comments in this post.
