Damien Woody's football IQ is through the roof -- it's what made him such an effective player.
The 12-year veteran spent the majority of last season fighting through injuries but still managed to take the field and do a good job protecting QB Mark Sanchez.
Even when he's not 100 percent healthy, the crafty veteran found ways to get the job done with his wits.
As such, ESPN and 1050 ESPN Radio have asked him to join their team -- as an analyst. NYDN's Manish Mehta announced the move:
Damien Woody will be NFL analyst on ESPN &1050 ESPN radio: "I get paid now to give my analysis & be critical of different situations," he said.[Woody] says he contemplated coming back. But extended lockout and ESPN opportunity steered him to this: "It's time to move on."
Glad to see the big fella will still be connected with football. And he'll do a much better job than the likes of Millen and Theismann did on NFL Network.
