I understand many people want to put the Nnamdi Asomugha situation behind them. I do have a few words, though, for those talking about the demise of the Jets for not landing him. There is a difference between not signing a guy and losing him.
The Raiders lost Nnamdi Asomugha. They will have to find a way to replace his production. They got something tangible from him in 2010.
The Jets did not lose Nnamdi Asomugha. They never had him. They got nothing from him in 2010. Had they signed him, he would have improved the team and added production. Failing to add him does not take away anything away. He contributed nothing to the green and white in 2010. There is nothing to replace.
If you wreck your car, you need to replace it. If you are simply shopping for a new car, and the price is too high, you do not need to replace anything. You just find the next best car, which is what the Jets did.
