John B Appreciation Thread
I would like to keep the lovefest going here at GGN. When John B started blogging about the Jets years ago, he did it out of passion for the team without expecting anything in return. SBNation noticed his great work and enlisted him to run the blog about the New York Jets, and we are all grateful for it.
Suffice it to say that it takes a lot of effort to run a blog, and on behalf of all the members at Gang Green Nation, I'd like to thank John for his hard work. He provides us great insight into the team and great judgment in enlisting moderators and writers (like me! lol). I especially admire how he keeps things in perspective especially after some tough losses and keeps most of us off the ledge.
So rec this post and leave your comments. All hail John B!!!

"Some things you just can't question. Like you can't question why two plus two is four. So don't question it, don't try to look it up. I don't know who made it, all I know is it was put in my head that two plus two is four. So certain things happen. Why does it rain? Why am I so sexy? I don't know." - Shaquille O'Neal

Great job!
I had been coming to the site for a while before I realized the concept behind it. I thought it was professional sports writers posting about the Jets. That’s a testament to John B’s quality control. Once I realized it’s all about fan’s posting their thoughts, I’ve been submitted a few posts of my own.
Thanks John!
i have spent the last 15 minutes looking for a sutable seinfeld gif, but i have failed

Completely agree
I think John has done a great job of making this a knowledgeable and fun place to talk Jets football. Kudos! And Rec’d.
i've decided on this one, even though it's relevence to the conversation is nonexsistent

dont sell yourself short bro
youre much more like wayne hunter. the backup who fills in more than admirably when called upon and eventually has the chops to get signed to a new big contract and take over a lead role on the team. (as long as you dont tip off GGN’s game plan to Behindthesteelcurtain we’ll be fine)
metsjetsknicksrangers.............can it get any worse?
Thanks for all the work John.
Only been here a short while but already it seems like it’s the best Jets blog out there, and John B appears to be the biggest reason why.
"CAN'T WAIT" to read each of John's threads.
I read all the NY papers each morning, and I must say, here at GGN is what I look forward to. I enjoy reading every word John has to say. As Bart Scott would say, “CAN’T WAIT” to read each thread. GO JETS!!! This is the year!
All hail JB

A Pats fan sharing his respect for you, John B...
The way you carry yourself and this blog deserves respect John. It’s not easy for us Pats fans to get along with you Jets fans but the way you carry this blog and demand respect out of every member makes it much easier and more approachable for us Pats fans to be able to share our input. Thank you.

What John B. means to me:
The person who used to be merely my favorite sports blogger has become a mentor and then some to me. John B. first became significant to me when I became a regular reader of his blog.
I was just a casual commenter, the sort of loser who argues with trolls on Yahoo! John and a few others selected me to do some quality assurance for the site a while back, something I take enormous pride in. Not just being selected, but being trusted with John’s blog (my favorite sports site) really meant a lot to me.
John has given me his undying support as a mod and a writer. I’m constantly on the defensive doing what I do, and John has never wavered. I’ve screwed up both in the technical and the guideliens aspect of the job, he’s patiently corrected me and stuck by me the whole time.
John B. refused my resignation when an angry Pats fan tried to have me removed. John B has taken flack for what I’ve done more than once, and still stuck by me.
John B. pushed me to do more than moderate, he encouraged me as a writer, something which nobody has ever done with me before. Just the fact that he allows me to take part in GGN behind the scenes is probably more significant than anything he could ever say or do for me, but John’s constant and unwavering support have made all of the effort more than worthwhile to me. I may never be as good a writer or analyst as John and other GGN writers, but I’m trying.
I credit GGN and John for my ever growing knowledge of both football and the Jets, and I attribute the chances he’s given me to staff his site to my growing into a more mature and patient human being (I know, it’s a work in progress).
Thank you John, for everything.

John, you said you were a college student...
… At some point last season. Could have fooled me. From the knowledgeable and well written posts and professional blog, I figured you to be an experienced sports journalist. Great job!
I actually am not. Graduated Boston College in 2008.

My apologies
That was jerseyJetsFan who posted in January of this year who is a college student. My recollection was wrong. Still though, your obvious knowledge of football is beyond your years.
That still surprised the hell out of me
I would never have thought you were that young. Not only because of your knowledge of the game, but also because of your calm and mature temperment.

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords
Just thought I’d pop in and leave my respects for John B. Jets/Pats debates can be contentious, and John B does a lot to trammel the tide. It’s appreciated by Pats Pulpit (I think I can say that on behalf of PP, anyway).

Plain And Simple
As Everyone has pointed out, this is one of the greatest Jets Websites on the Web. It very well could be, and has my vote, to be the BEST Website related to our beloved Gang Green. It Beats Out The Actual NYJ Website and NFL’s Website by a mile. Since Coming here I have checked just about every post every day and the Reason I can do that Is Because Of John B. Even Patriot Fans Appreciate His Efforts. This is one of the few things I look forward to reading and checking out.
Thank you for all your hard work. As You can see, we ALL appreciate how hard you must work to make this website such a great one.
Thanks from the Giant fan.
I may not be the most noble of men but in a town of lepers, im the one with the most fingers.
Giant LB'z SUCK!!? Mark Herzlich, Greg Jones,Spencer Paysinger...Maybe not..
Proud to call this man my friend
I had the absolute pleasure of attending high school and graduating with John B. And I will say this; as good as his analysis is of the Jets, as good as his breakdowns of any given game or play or scenario, as good as his knowledge of announcers past and present…that’s how good of a friend he really is.
Of course he is the most knowledgeable Jets fan that I know. Of course he’s the most articulate and informative Jets fan I know. But more than that, he is my friend. And I can’t tell you how proud I am to say that.

He's my friend too, Fobby ^^ [Recd post]
I can tell you he’s a great person on and off the site. He does so much stuff behind the scenes that goes un-noticed.
John puts so many hours into this site it’s hard to thank him enough. Remember, he has a M-F FT job on top of this.
There are few people I had a business relationship w/ that I call a friend — John is one of the select few. Awesome guy.
