Add Mark Brunell to the list of the walking wounded who will not play against the Texans in tonight's preseason opening contest.
Jets backup QB Mark Brunell, with an injured finger on his left (throwing) hand, won't play Monday night against the Houston Texans.
That might not be the worst thing in the world. It means more snaps for Greg McElroy and Drew Willy. How much will it help them? It is probably not going to be the biggest deal in the world, but it can at least raise their comfort level a bit having experience working against NFL defenses in an NFL stadium. These battles for one last spot are one of the few things about preseason that I find interesting. Given the current makeshift nature of the offensive line, I would hope to see the last two quarterbacks on the depth chart play early and often in this game.
