EAST RUTHERFORD NJ - NOVEMBER 21: Arian Foster #23 of the Houston Texans gets the ball into the endzone for a touchdown against Robert Turner #75 of the New York Jets on November 21 2010 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey. Robert Turner has signed his one year tender to stay with the Jets.
Restricted free agent OL Rob Turner, who was tendered by the Jets in February, has signed a one-year deal with the team. Turner was originally signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico in 2007
He is a guy the coaching staff knows and likes. Plus he has experience lining up as an extra blocker when the Jets go into their big running formations.
I will stand by my predictions that 2011 will be Turner's final year in green and white. He is represented by the infamous Feinsod and Schwartz duo of Revis holdout fame. When it comes to a long term deal for a backup caliber player, one can only imagine the Jets will avoid dealing with guys they find unpleasant whenever they can do so.
This is clearly not the flashiest of moves, but it does solve interior line depth.
