Nnamdi Asomugha is an Eagle

It's Official, Nnamdi Asomugha is a Philadelphia Eagle. Andy Reid has been the mystery suitor all along. The same team that has Asante Samuel just got Nnamdi, Rodgers Cromartie, and aquired Vince Young to replace Kolb. To say they've made a free agency splash would be an immense understatement. Per Adam Schefter, Nnamdi will get a 5 year 60 million dollar contract with 25 million of that guaranteed.

Many fans on the site and around SBN, as well as off the web are speculating that we were merely a bargaining chip and never really had a shot. I'm seriously starting to get the impression that not only is that true, but several other teams such as the Texans, Cowboys, and 49'ers were just fodder to get a high profile big market team to up the ante and make a huge bid.

What's even more sinister is that Nnamdi's agent is also Antonio Cromartie's agent. From the looks of it both of his top clients will be cashing in off of our gullibility and hard work in recruiting and making cap room. Details haven't fully emerged, but Nnamdi will be getting a five year LTC from the City of Brotherly Love.

Although I'm immensely disappointed that Cromartie will likely be resigned with the team at an enormously inflated contract, far outpacing what he deserves, I will say that the good thing to come out of this is that Mike T. worked us some fantastic cap room, and we can really improve our team now.

At the very least, Braylon fans can take solace that his chances of returning are highly inflated. Same with all of our other free agents.

Ehhhhhh no.

The last few months I didn’t care about that’s just talk, that’s just silliness I don’t mind that., that was pipe dreams, real pipe dreams. This week…. there was hope… real tangible, plausible reach out and touch it hope. Something this franchise is finally get back since Rex Ryan showed up, and with Nnamdi we could have had a true destructive lock down.

I have been thinking about the fact that he could fail in Rex system. He was not really tested much in Oak and he also was not always on the best receiver. Perhaps their is a chance he struggled here like Cro did a few times.

I also had this nagging doubt in my mind as well. The dude hasn’t really been challenged in a few years. I’m sure he’s still going to get that same amount of respect in Philly from opposing QBs, but I’m also guessing that with the improved ability of his supporting cast, QBs might be forced to take a chance in his direction more often. In which case we’ll truly see what level of skill he retains…

I hear that EA Sports actually conspired with Roger Goodell to sabotage Asomogha coming to the Jets because when they tried to program a team for Madden with both he and Revis on it, it kept short circuting the game consuls…so we will keep Antonio because of the dreaded red ring of death. Totally agree with this post. And that would explain why the Jets pulled their offer, realizing this was just a crock of shit from the get go. Wasn’t high on wasting that much cap space on corners anyway, but there is one good thing that can come from this. His name’s Braylon Edwards.

Since the word Nnamdi breathed life into the JETS plans you all have salvated at the fact that this team is going to the Super Bowl, and he is the missing part to do that. Now that he is elswhere he is a piece of shit, kind of like Cliff Lee and how he turned down the mighty Yankees. I guess that not everybody wants to play for the great fat Rex Ryan and even at a discount. You are part to blame just as the media is and the JETS orgainization, here is to Braylon and Cro who I hope sign else where and leave you guys really screwed.
