Ben Hartsock will sign with the Carolina Panthers.
The Carolina Panthers continue to make lots of noise. This one’s not as big as DeAngelo Williams or Charles Johnson, but ESPN.com's John Clayton reports veteran tight end Ben Hartsock has agreed to a two-year deal.
The Matthew Mulligan blocking tight end era begins.
The Jets are spending a lot on cornerstone type players, which means they do not want to spend much on spare part types like pure blocking tight ends. Considering Carolina's run attack and the potential for a raw rookie quarterback, a third tackle type of tight end like Hartsock seems like a good fit.
