No he wouldn’t. Westhoff has great schemes for everybody, including the likes of Devin Hester and Josh Cribbs. Especially because we know Smith so well, he likely wouldn’t do much damage.

Defense is different than special teams
Special teams it’s easier to contain if you have the proper schemes. That’s why we don’t often see teams running the ball back on us, because we have good schemes. Defense is much more difficult to control because you also need to account for the offensive scheming. The ways to scheme returns is significantly different, and it’s like comparing apples to oranges.

I know they’re the trendy pick like every year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Houston broke through this year. They’ve got a great offense. Say what you will about Wade Phillips. He is a great defensive coordinator. (How do you think he keeps getting those head coaching jobs he stinks at?) And Joseph addresses a pressing need at corner to help what was a terrible pass defense.

He's playing with our emotions!
Its becoming a situation now.
Sure Brad Smith was not a top priority but him leaving was the result of having to wait on Aso. We have also missed out on JJ. So now if Aso doesnt sign, we HAVE to shell out more money than we want to keep Cro. Not big money but still more money. Who knows how Cro is taking this?

we should take a flier on michael jenkins who was just released by ATL…it couldn’t hurt having another big body for sanchez to throw to. braylon was the best at corralling not so accurate passes that sanchez tends to throw and it was easy for him to do these things because of him being able to body smaller corners…i think given the opportunity, michael jenkins could do the same in a lesser capacity…hopefully we can sign braylon though…he earned my trust last year

But see, the thing last year is we weren't buying...
We traded for Edwards, Holmes and Cromartie. Those guys were on there rookie contracts when we got them and therefore were earning small bucks. Holmes and Cro were about $1 mill each. Edwards was cheap year one, then second year we gave him $6 mill with no CBA.
The Eagles just BOUGHT 3 guys. I don’t know how they can afford it.

The difference between Clowney and those other guys is he doesn’t really make squat, and I’ve always wanted him to make it in the league despite his inferior abilities.
Although you named pretty much every modern Jet I don’t care for. I will say Favre brought the excitement of actually having a QB. It was arguably the Favre trade that got me excited about football again and talking on places like GGN. Even if at the end of the season he fell flat on his face, and just used us to jump ship to the Vikes, and turned out kind of a sleaze, I’ll never forget the time I turned on ESPN in the wee hours of the morning and saw that we had a quarterback.
So far, Sanchez has filled that void just fine for me.
