Let me talk about an old friend for a bit. Santana Moss is a free agent. The wide receiver spent the first four years of his career with the Jets. He had a breakout year in 2003 with 1,105 yards and 10 touchdowns. Two years later, he was traded to Washington to bring Laveranues Coles back to New York. Could the 31 year old be a stopgap option if the Jets lose one of their key receivers?
Moss is one of the few guys out there I think could replicate some of the skills of Santonio Holmes if the Jets did not resign him. Moss has developed into a good route runner and is dangerous in the open field. His speed is not what it once was, but he has enough left to force defenses to account for him.
As is the case with all of these guys, I cannot say whether the Jets would be interested. I think he would be a good short term option if the team lost one of the big guns, though.
