Year after year NFL decides to implicate rules to soften up this sport when the violence of the game has made it what it is today. I know that there are many people who wont see it the same way I do, the same people who were upset with James Harrison's comments recently when he said everytime I hit someone I hope I do hurt them but I never want to injure someone. When Harrison said this alot of people took it as if he were some violent thug just wanting to send people to the hospital. But In reality it is part of the game to hit people and when you hit somebody part of the game is them feeling it.
This year the NFL has decided to take the game into a direction that seems like it will end with professional flag football. They have allready moved where the kickers kick further up and even were discusing removing returns completely from the game. Removing returns completely from the game is just disgusting to me that they even brought that up.
New Rule - A 15-yard penalty and fines will result for anyone who leaves both feet before contact to spring forward and into an opponent and delivers a blow to the helmet with any part of his helmet. Im fine with this hit similar to the one Brandon Meriweather was suspended for.
New Definition of a Defenseless Receiver - A player who hits a receiver attempting or completing a catch without having time to ward off or avoid contact. Once a receiver has his hands on the ball he should be fare play that's what I remeber from playing in a PAL league when I was 12. DBs and linebackers now have to fight an urge because they were taught young that once a receiver has his hands on the ball and now basically if you hit a receiver before allowing the receiver to gain possession you will be fined that is just wrong.
A Defenseless QB - From now on QBs who are attempting a throw either moving there arm backwards or forwards are considered defenseless and cant be hit. Also if a QB is trying to hand the ball off he cant be hit because he's considered defenseless. Just give the QB a Flag because like Ray Lewis said the NFL is forgeting that QBs are men and that they can take a hit like a man.
