Marty Lyons Makes College Football Hall of Fame

Stay connected for news and updates

Marty Lyons, former member of the fabled New York Sack Exchange and current Jets radio analyst, will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Before the defensive tackle was part of the Jets’ legendary New York Sack Exchange in the early 1980s, he was an All-American and national champion for the Crimson Tide. He is among the 14 players and two coaches from the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision selected for the Class of 2011, to be inducted in December.

"The highest honor you can get in college football is to get into the College Football Hall of Fame," Lyons said. "You just get overwhelmed with emotion."

This honor is well deserved for Marty. It sure would be nice for his defensive line mate, Joe Klecko, to one day be honored as a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Congratulations to the newest member of the Jets family to be honored as a Hall of Famer.
