So What's Next Day 3

So Whats next, the Jets have fought off the urge to trade up but looking at who is still on the board perhards the jets do trade up for somebody in the 4th. Rex said on SNY yesterday that he found another hand picked offensive player that he is targeting in the later rounds intresting to find out who it is.

* = Workout with Jets

Round 4 (Trade Up) -

  Sam Acho* DE/OLB, Texas
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'2''  -  Weight: 257

Midway the Jets trade their 5th to trade up in the 4th and draft Sam Acho. Those who read my posts know how down I was
on this guy but for a 4th round pick not a 2nd he is worth it. He is high motor, hard worker shows to have the athletic ability
to drop into space he may not be the answer to our pass rushing needs but he does bring youth to the linebacker core
and could contribute as a bench player

  Robert Sands S, West Virgina
Class:  Junior  - Height: 6'4''  -  Weight: 221
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1630630
Another player the jets could package their 5th to trade up for using his height to throw QBs off wheather he is blitzing or dropping back he has the ball skills to be a great safety with this team.

Rounds 4 - 5 (Staying Still) -

  1. Denarius Moore* WR, Tennessee
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'0''  -  Weight: 191
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1244818
He is already considered a sound route runner. Biggest knock is he was shut down by better competition, although it is fair to point out that the whole offense was shut down too often, and there isn't much a receiver can do when the quarterback is constantly under immediate pressure. With the Jets short handed on WR under contract he offers some insurance.

  2. Jerrard Tarrant FS, Georgia Tech
Class:  Junior  -  Height: 6'0''  -  Weight: 204
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1242910
Discribed as a tweener, safety/corner. This guy has excellent straight-line speed to attack in run support and blitz the passer. Stays with receivers and tight ends and excels in
man coverage. The Jets need some safety depth with good man coverage skills.

  3. Jeremy Kerley WR*, TCU
Class:  Junior  -  Height: 5'9''  -  Weight: 188
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1273689
Has shown the fluid hips and quick feet necessary to develop into a nightmare in the slot for a team willing to invest the time. Does not shy away from contact when going up to make tough catches and will sell out over the middle in traffic. Biggest knock is his lack of running pro routes but this kid got talent. WR/KR/HB poor man's Percy Harvin.

  4. Mana Silva SS, Hawaii
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'1''  -  Weight: 212  -  40 Time: 4.44  -  BP: 23
14 picks in his career coming off a season with 8 picks, 76 tackles and 14 passes defended and he still was a combine snub. He is the saftey we could deffently use wheater it is playing coverage or blitzing off the edge.

Rounds 6 - 7

  1. Elijah Joseph ILB*, Temple
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'2''  -  Weight: 240
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1243268

  2. Willie Smith OT, East Carolina
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'5''  -  Weight: 310
Full Scouting Report - http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1245936
I've been putting this guy on my board and I'm positive with the coaching he can receive with the jets he could become something special.

  3. Jeff Tarpinian ILB*, Iowa
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 6'3''  -  Weight: 238  -  40 Time: 4.56  -  BP: 16
Has the size and intrestingly enough the speed to move outside or drop to safety.

  4. Micheal Galatas WR*, Millsaps
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 5'9''  -  Weight: 180

  5. Brodie Cole CB*, South Dakota State
Class:  Senior  -  Height: 5'10''  -  Weight: 188  -  40 Time: 4.41  -  BP: 16
Cole Brodie ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 and 4.43 at his Pro Day workout. Last season, Brodie had a five interceptions and returned two for touchdowns. Also averaged 24.8 yards on 17 kickoff returns with the longest of 64 yards and averaged 10.9 yards on 34 punt returns.
