the first round is in the books and we drafted a big guy to help our d-line . it was a solid pick and he should excel in our team who have some of the best coaches in the league .
now we move on to round 2 and beyond and i see Mike T sharpening his sword at the grindstone just waiting to go in for the kill , by pulling off yet another trade that will make make most JET fans happy and some fans (PATS)cry .
where can we realisticlly trade up to ? moving up to the 2nd round means giving up all our other picks this year or giving up our 1st next year . i cant see that happening so i think if there is a move to be made it will be to trade up to first 5 picks of the 3rd round .
who will be available at those spots is hard to tell, but if guys like kendrick ellis , houston ,acho, moch, moore or even someone like martez wilson fall into those spotS i think Mike T will pull the trigger and get his man .
this years 6th and next years 2nd to a team like denver (pick 67 )could be enough to get us one of these guys ,and still leave us with this years 3rd to maybe grab quinton carter FS or chris carter OLB.
would it be worth giving up next years 2nd to move up in the 3rd ? i think it would . we have approached this years draft with no 2nd and we all have seen how much we can recoup if we trade back , so using next years 2nd to get a guy now makes lots of sense .
judging by the first round , not having a FA before the draft has affected the way most teams have approached this draft and i can see this trend continuing at least till the 4th round . players we like will drop because teams are drafting to fill holes rather than BPA so we should take advantage of that and do everything in our power to get some of those players before they are off the board .
