Jeff Tarpinian is yet another smallish lesser know LB that the Jets worked out. He was never more than a backup and special teamer at Iowa. Injuries prevented a greater role. Therefore, he has no stats to consider. He has only one highlight reel - a big special teams hit linked here...
So why the interest?
More after the jump.
Jeff Tarpinian had eye catching work out numbers at his pro day. While he was converted from a DB to an LB, he apparently maintained those DB measurables.
From National Football Post...
Measuring in at 6-2, 235, Tarpinian was clocked between 4.48-4.55 in the 40 yard dash and registered times in the pro agility (20-yard shuttle) between 3.85-4.15.
Some other numbers to take note: a 37-inch vertical jump, a broad jump of 10.5 feet and a 3-Cone time between 6.5-6.7 seconds.
So again, in addition to Doug Hogue, Malcom Smith, and Lawrence Wilson, the Jets worked out another smaller coverage LB. Apparently, its an interest they want to fill.
