How Bout an All Green Backfield?

6-2, 230, 4.4 forty

2010: 146 carries, 1199 yards (8.2 ypc), 18 TDs

Scouting Report

I came across this guy by accident when I was trying to find more film on that guy Malcolm Smith that GreenBeer introduced us to. Looking at his highlights, I was immediately impressed. When I saw his speed, my first reaction was to doubt he was actually a "big back." But his size checked out. Then I had to confirm his production, and with 1200 yards rushing, 8 ypc, 18 TDs, and 300+ yard game... I would say that that also checked out. I'm a guy that digs RBs. I know most of the guys that are good and have watched most of them play at least one game. I'm stunned that I never even heard of this guy.

His speed and his power immediately jump off the screen. He has fantastic feet and can make people miss in tight spaces. He's got the frame to be an every down back, but the speed and quickness to able to contribute with limited carries. Hands seem decent. Its legitimate to question is ability to execute the patience, vision, and discipline to be productive in a zone blocking scheme. Seems like he hails from a spread offense where most of his carries were on draw plays with gaping holes to explode through. He's also a JUCO transfer, but I actually think that this is a positive since he will have less wear and tear on his body.

Green has all the tools to be a good, if not great, back at the next level. He will need at least a year of grooming though. He's projected to go in rounds 4-6. I think he would be a fantastic pick if we snatched him up around then. He'd be a great compliment to the other Greene, or if he gets good enough, Greene could be a great compliment to him. Greene & Green boys coming to inflict pain. He could be the next Arian Foster.
