We own a 1st 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th round draft picks. Mike Tannembaum and the Jets front office has shown that it rather draft quality players in smaller number rather than quantity. We should stay true to this philosophy come draft day. We dont really have any pressing needs on offense other than releasing LT and resigning Braylon and Santonio. We need a pass rusher, a future NT, a DE to take over for Shaun Ellis in a year or so, and a ball hawking FS
We can trade out of the first round into the early second like the vikings did last year and earn and early second in return and a 3rd rounder. With that pick, we can pick up a players
DE/OLB Sam Acho from texas... DE Muhammed Wilkerson from temple... FS Rahim Moore from UCLA... or DE Allen Bailey from Miami
our 3rd round pick can be used to draft a player like
NT Kendrick Ellis from Hampton (who will be a franchise NT for years to come)... MLB Casey Matthews from Oregon (hes another chip off the block who can step in at ILB in a year or two because Bart Scott is 30 and not getting younger)... DE/OLB Chris Carter from fresno state... DE/OLB Bruce Miller from UCF... WR Greg Little from UNC
What do you guys think of drafting players like these?
