Our friends on the main site have yet another mock draft up. There are a couple of UCLA guys I have seen projected at this spot. This mock has a linebacker.
30. New York Jets: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA. His stock has taken a bit of a hit thanks to pedestrian athletic workouts, but Ayers is still valued in the draft community thanks to his versatility and well-rounded game. In Rex Ryan's defense, he'd be an outside linebacker capable of blitzing and dropping into coverage.
I am really starting to zero in on the Draft so you will probably start to hear more from me on the topic. At this point, I am leaning towards not liking the potential for Ayers at 30. He does a lot of things well, but so does Bryan Thomas. I think the Jets need to add a pure pass rusher. That is what the team needs. Ayers does not really fit the build there.
