This pick came down between Aldon Smith and Kerrigan. To me, I decided to go with Kerrigan for a few reasons: Kerrigan is the kind of player Gene Smith likes- a high character, team captain, 4 year player etc. Kerrigan is also arguably the best player still on the board and fills a need at DE. He might not have as high a ceiling as Smith, but isn't as much a risk/project. Aarom Kampman tore his ACL midway through the season, leaving the Jags with little threat rushing from the edge in a division where they must get to Peyton Manning. I also like Kerrigan because not only did he put up good numbers at the combine, but he looks great on tape and has the numbers to back it up. His 12.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles as well as 26 TFL are all impressive. One more reason to like Kerrigan is the possibility of the Jaguars moving to a 3-4 D in the future and he could provide them flexibility as an OLB.
It might not be the flashiest pick and it is a common mock draft pick, but I think Kerrigan is a good fit for the Jaguars.
