D'Brickashaw Ferguson Could Lose Offseason Bonus

Stay connected for news and updates

If the lockout drags on, D'Brickashaw Ferguson is one player who could potentially lose some hefty bonus money.

ESPN obtained a copy of some of the biggest workout bonuses that players have, and whom this lockout will hit in the wallet sooner rather than later. Jets offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson has the biggest offseason workout bonus -- $750,000 if he participates in 85 percent of the workouts.

I might be sympathetic to the cause of the players in the labor strife, but I am not about to shed a tear for D'Brickashaw or any other players. Any player with a big workout bonus likely has it as part of a large contract. These guys will more than make up for any lost money.

I would like to think the Jets might use some of the money allocated for bonuses that will not be paid to help out their own workers who are currently out of a job.
