Thank you, readers.
It was just over one year ago when John and I had a social media discussion. The end result was that the Web 2.0 movement was upon us and it was imperative that we utilize social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook to interact with readers.
At this current point in time we did have an 'operational' Twitter page, but it was rarely used and only had 67 followers. We then decided it was time to pick things up and hop on another outlet to deliver our content to Jets' fans. So I took over the page -- and the rest is history.
Less than one hour ago, thanks to @StephaniePeck, we hit 1,000 followers on Twitter.
The 2010-11 NFL season was a fun ride for Jets fans as we watched Gang Green mount another near-historic run. For the second consecutive year, we watched our favorite team nearly punch a ticket to the Super Bowl.
The year was just as strong for the site, as we tried our best to give back to you all -- in the form of quality content as well as free items. Said items included multiple tickets giveaways, an autographed Mark Gastineau authentic helmet, New York Jets DVDs and even tickets to a party for the Jets home opener Vs. Baltimore.
We were lucky enough to see record numbers in traffic last season, which brings us to just over 5.5 million hits in the site's history. GGN has certainly come a long way since John took the reins and began running this blog. He continues to work hard, and we continue to remain strong in delivering news to the best fan base in the NFL.
This one's for you readers, who we cannot thank enough -- and here's to 1,000 more!
