Nick Folk was inconsistent. Simply put. Does he have talent, yes, of course. He was on the track to becoming one of the best in the league until injury, and a metal block slowed his production and accuracy. He showed his flashes here and there throughout the season, setting a Jets record in Denver for the longest kick. He also began to come into his own as the playoffs road along (except for his botched 30 yarder in NE).
Today the Jets have sign another Nick. Nick Novak was the leading scorer from the UFL last year, with 69 points. His experience in the NFL is limited, and mediocre, but this recent season provides promise.
I like this move, because it gives us options. Novak has offered up his bit of clutch performances through his tenure in college, and in the NFL. In My opinion, see how this new guy does, and from there make a decision, but give Folk the benefit of the doubt. What certain though, is that one of these guys will be gone by the start of the season.
