Pat Yasinskas from ESPN provided 2011 salary cap figures for all NFL teams. Here is the breakdown for all the AFC East teams.
Buffalo Bills: $96.4
Miami Dolphins: $103.1
New York Jets: $128.5
New England Patriots: $102.3
The Jets have the third most money committed to players under contract for 2011, behind Dallas and Green Bay. The rest of the division are around the middle of the pack. Tampa Bay has the least amount of money dedicated to players in 2011 at $59.7.
If the salary cap structure is similar to the past system, the salary cap should be around $145 million, leaving the Jets $16.5 million to work with. It's been reported the Jets may use the franchise tag on David Harris. In 2010, the franchise tag for his position is $9.6 million. Estimating the figure to rise, the Jets will now have around $6 million dedicated to 2011 players.
