Are We About to See More Brodney Pool?

The New York Jets have tweeted today that:

The Jets have a lot of confidence in S Brodney Pool. Coach Ryan - This week and going forward, we're going to see a lot more of Brodney.

This is undoubtedly a good thing. Pool has shown to be a playmaker when given action. He's had several picks or near picks that Eric Smith unquestioningly would not have had. That said, I think this is the wrong week to get Pool involved. The Chiefs do not have an advanced passing attack and as has been said, will likely rely on a basic formula to keep the ball away from Tyler Palko. If Pool can wrap up and play the run as well as Smith, then fine, go for it. But the one thing Smith is good at is defending against the run. Dude can HIT. I say rotate the two evenly, but save Pool as a starter for next week.
