There have been numerous articles, conversations, discussions, and even heated debates about our newly found pass-rush specialist, Aaron "Mayhem" Maybin. Now I think an even more important question needs to be asked:
What is his rank on the team, or more specifically, the Defense, in terms of importance or vital-ness to the team? In other words, on a scale of best to worst players on the defense - where would he be?
Feel free to give him a rank yourselves in the comments section. My personal list will appear after the jump - Top 10.
1 Darrelle Revis - Duh.
2 Sione Pouha - Arguably the most under-appreciated player on the team. No Po = No Push.
3 David Harris - Arguably the most underrated ILB in the NFL.
4 Muhammad Wilkerson - Quietly having an above average rookie season. No Mo = No Mojo (on the D-Line)
5 AARON MAYBIN - Rightfully placed at #5. The only legitimate pass rusher on the team in my opinion.
6 Bart Scott - Does a lot of dirty work for the Defense.
7 Antonio Cromartie - All of his ST flubs aside, plays a vital role in the secondary.
8 Mike Devito - Much like Po and Mo, he is a vital part of the defensive line.
9 Kyle Wilson - A budding star at the Slot Corner position.
10 Calvin Pace - Like Scott, a dirty work OLB who plays hard all the time.
Honorable Mention: Jim Leonhard - an above average safety who's a good tackler, but in this day and age the team need's someone better in coverage.
Undeserving of Mention: Eric Smith - belongs on the sidelines with a clipboard, not on an NFL field.
