Are the Jets making room for the return of Dr. Beardface'?

When news broke out this morning that former Jets WR Braylon Edwards was released by the 49ers, many of you wished he would take the place of WR Eron Riley, a career practice squad player who has been on the Jets active roster. Well, your wish may be coming true. The team may be clearing room for the return of Dr. Beardface'. Per Manish Mehta via Twitter:

WR Eron Riley, who was inactive in 7 of his 9 games as a Jet, has been cut, a source confirms.

But then again, the team has been busy releasing and signing players on and off the active roster and back to the practice squad, and so on. So this might not mean anything at all.
