Jake Long Tears Right Bicep
Hey guys. According to the Miami Herald (see link here), LT Jake Long of the Miami Dolphins has torn his right bicep. Long, as you all are undoubtedly aware, is an All-Pro and one of the best left tackles in the game. In a game that the Jets absolutely, positively, HAVE to win to get into the playoffs, they are going to need all the help they can get against a surging Miami team. The Dolphins have had trouble with their offensive line all season, but the loss of Long, who is having a down year anyway, willl certainly help as the Jets try and pressure Matt Moore and stuff Reggie Bush. I would never wish an injury on any player, but this certainly helps the Jets try and sneak through the backdoor of the playoffs.

Right!!!!!
Crazy how the medical staff would keep him out when Favre was able to play 4 more games without anyone noticiing a change in his throwing motion. This long guy must be a major pussy.

Right, because the degree of the tear has no bearing on anything!
Seriously Benz, just stop trying.

And the fact that you use your arm to throw and throw and throw has anything to do with it!
but you know eveything and Im here to learn.
The Hardest thing for some men to do is .... Believe what they see!
Hmm, I wonder which is more stressful on the arms...
Throwing a couple-oz football half the time or pushing off 250~350 lbs men on every play?

Niether should be great for the particular job each are trying to get done
but its why I think he couldnt perform on the level prior to that …. when he was magic .
Obviously there are different degrees and different situations but if it can hold him back I dont see how it would be a nonfactor on another guy no matter who the guy is.

I'm not sure if I want the jets in the playoffs.
But I want the season to end on a good note.

don't matter
I could be playing o-line for the fish and guarantee the Jets wouldn’t get any pressure.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing

this won't mean anything if we can't score on their D
I wouldn’t be surprised if the combined score of the game is 20.

Exactly
the deciding factor on whether we win games is not about how the opposing offense performs, it is how our offense plays. And it can’t play. It can’t play at all.

yup
literally if we get a play or two more a game from our offense we are already in the playoffs. The Denver, Giants, and (first) NE game come to mind.

Even Baltimore, actually I give that one a mulligan cause Mangold was out.

Even the 2nd NE game..
Maybe our defense decides to catch what would have been a brady INT too.

Bobdole, you aren't wishing him an injury, he already had it.

So for us to make the playoffs we need...
beat Miami, Ravens over Bengals, Texans over Titans, KC over Broncos, AND Chargers over Raiders??
by SheoawnnGreen23 on Dec 26, 2011 12:08 AM EST reply actions
Wrong
We need to beat Mimai, Ravens and Texans to win. with EITHER KC over Broncos or Chargers over Raiders.

Not entirely true
The Raiders can get in if both they and Denver win, as long as Cincinnati and Tennessee lose, or Cincinnati loses and the New York Jets win.

Ah, for some reason the way it looked on NFL, it suggested something like that.

The Raiders can get a Wild Card if Denver wins the West. Denver cannot get a Wild Card if the Raiders win the West.

Were the packers seen as mediocre around this time last year??
I know for sure people didnt see them as a playoff team. They got into the playoffs in the final week of the season.
by jets4life24 on Dec 26, 2011 12:40 AM EST via mobile reply actions
sort of
The Packers were seen as mediocre, who if they got in would be a dangerous team. The Jets have a lot more problems than the Packers did.

The Packers have a hell of a quarterback
when you have a great QB it covers up for a lot of weakness on your team…
how the two worst defences are most likely gonna end up the top two seeds in the playoffs…
…. SMDH …. All I want for Xmas is great signalcaller…

the Packers weren't mediocre they were riddled with more injures than an old folks home on top of an ice rink.

are you serious
have you been watching the jets this season?…there a one half football team that have no safeties, a suspect oline, a horrible o coordinator, and no offensive playmakers besides santonio holmes who gets keyed on everygame. please dont compare them to the packers of last season because i did the same thing this year just to realize i was fooling myself like alot of other jet fans
