What are you high? Did you really think we could gut our team and get worse at just about every possible level and our third year QB who only started one year in college was going to carry us to the super bowl....just think about that for a few seconds and let it sink in.
Here's a look at some major moves that we made this off season:
O-Line: Replaced Woody with Wayne Hunter=10000000000% downgrade
WR: Lost our deep threat and gave Sanchez his third WR corps he had to learn to play with in three years.
RB: LT got another year older and Greene running behind our new O-line looks mundane at best
QB: Sanchez has one more year of experience (One of the very few places we improved in a position)
DL: The DL might be the only other place that we could have arguably improved at a position(It's younger and will be better in the future I think..however the overall quality at the moment is comparable to last year.)
LB: Our LBs look slow...very slow, our ILBs are not playing up to their potential at all and our OLBs with the exception of the mid season pick up Maybin don't look very good either
DB: Revis, Cro and Wilson are one of the brightest spots on the team however we pair them with our Safeties who are probably just about the worst in the league (Add in trading Lowery for a bag of balls, increasing Eric Smith's role in the D, and another year of injured Lenhord and even with the improvment in Wilson's play I think it would be hard to say we got better at the position.)
So After that shit storm of an off season getting worse at just about every level you actually are blaming our third year QB who only started one year in college for the disappointing season and not carrying us to the Super Bowl. Get real people hes not the problem, he has a horrible Offensive coaching staff and was given no help at all on the offensive side of the ball this off season. Sanchez still tied the all time team record for TDs this year and has shown flashes that if we develop a very young player (only his fourth season starting including college...some qbs have that many seasons starting under their belt before they even step on a NFL field.) with good coaching he can become a good QB in this league.
Before you blame this disappointing season and try and call for Sanchez's head think for a moment if what you expected and were asking the man to do was even somewhat realistic in the first place...because it really wasn't..Sanchez has shown improvement, despite the terrible O-Line play, dropped balls, lack of a deep threat, no run game, bat shit crazy OC, and horrible coaching/handling of a young QB. If you really thought we could gut our team, ignore the numerous positions of need over the off-season, and our third year QB was just going to carry us to the super bowl, your crazier then Schotty!!
